Happy Fridayyyyyy!!! Had such an awesome morning of practicing and teaching this morning. ⠀⠀ Had to try this super cool arm balance inspired by @ethereal.flame and @inshapewithshannon 🎉🎉 ⠀⠀ Swipe left for the video. Sound on to hear me figuring it out as I go along. You really want to press the earth away AND press the outer edge of your foot into the wrist crease. I found putting it on top of my hand was too bony to be comfortable. ⠀⠀ It requires A LOT of compression in the core, hence the light cramp in my side. Hello healthy shoulders 👋🏼😇 .. have you done any hanging today?? . . These exercises are an easy way to develop the shoulders and core .. as well as providing an opportunity to balance all the ‘pushing’ patterns we perform as yogis/ movers . . Passive hangs are by far the easiest and most widely applicable exercise in this grouping — a few rounds of 30-60 seconds is great — I like to accumulate 7minutes per day (not all in one go) . . Active hangs are a great way to strengthen and stabilize - as shown, it can be beneficial to pulse in and out of the active and passive positions 👍🏼 . . German hangs, as well as the skin the cat entry, are valuable tools for shoulder extension. These will help to lengthen throughout arms, shoulders and chest . Note - recommendation is to keep forearms in a supinated position (best to target the biceps) .. which means palms facing down & back . . Inverted hangs are a bonus movement, with many modifications and various benefits . . Remember, rings aren’t the only way to hang! .. stairs, trees, street signs .. you can always find something to hang from! . . Questions welcome. Saves and shares appreciated! 🥰👊🏼✨ . . Abs are responsible for the transfer of energy throughout the body. If you can channel more energy throughout your abs, you’re likely going to be able to lift more, apply more force, jump higher, and run faster. In that vein, building strong abs can help improve your performance. For a more physique-oriented goal, training your abs does have some benefits. The biggest being that, when you train your abs, those muscles will grow. When those muscles grow, they’ll start showing more, even at a higher body fat percentage. That doesn’t mean that someone at 20% body fat who trains his abs should be expecting to get a six-pack.
