Ketone testing is something that many keto dieters can become a little obsessed about. You don’t need to worry about constantly checking your ketones but here are 4 times when doing so can provide great insight.
There is no optimal blood ketone level, it’s likely that it’s different for everyone and this is where testing can be helpful. When you know what your personal optimal ketone level is for a particular goal, then you can better achieve that state of ketosis when you need to.
For example, I know that when I’m writing my brain performs best when ketones are above 0.7 and I know that fasting for 12 hours + MCTs gets me there so when I am writing in the morning I tailor what I’m doing accordingly.
As is the case in every sector of nutrition, self-experimentation and finding what works best for you is important. Ketone readers like those from @biocoach.io are a great tool to help you do just that!
