My sweet Willa Jane & sassy Lilly Annette! I don’t know how we got so lucky with these two beauties who are growing like weeds and sleeping like angels. Here are some of my favs from our newborn shoot that I photographed!

📓I have officially withdrawn my children from public school! ✏️
I will be homeschooling for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year and so on until the children decide they want to go back to public school.
Over their winter break, I saw COVID cases rise in our town and overwhelm our hospitals. I reflected on how overworked and overwhelmed our teachers currently are. Combine this with the prospect of sending my children back to a school they weren’t happy to be at. So after lots of conversations and seeing how excited the kids were to learn at home, I immediately informed the school district of my intent to homeschool.
2022 should be a very interesting year for sure. This is new for us, as I will be a #workinghomeschoolmom and continuing to run our family business @padropaperco and taking on freelance clients. So 2022 is going to look a bit different than how I had imagined it. I’m up for the challenge though!
I hope you all have a lovely New Year’s Eve. Stay safe and healthy friends 💖

Don’t quit, you do make a difference (to someone)
January is so overwhelming, there are so many projects to do and so many tasks we just wanted to check off. If you’re anything like me, the motivation train left the station at full speed with no plans to slow down…but after only 10 days, I’ve already stopped to refuel AND THAT IS OKAY!
But what is the fuel? For me, today, it was this picture. A moment captured in time where my 3 year old son wanted to be just like his mom. To be right by my side, doing exactly what I was doing. How could I not want to recreate this moment again and again… how could this not be my fuel to keep going?
When the energy gets low, it’s natural to stop and think we’re just pausing, but stats don’t lie and February will come; don’t find yourself in reverse. New Year’s offered us all the symbolic kick in the ass to level up, but now it’s time to start hunting. Maybe it’s a simple picture like this or an inspirational quote, but everyday try to find something that fuels you forward and no matter what, refuse to quit.
btw…I’m sure there are several people reading this, rolling their eyes, thinking I’m overly naïve or unrealistic and that’s okay! 2021 was a long ass year and personally I’d rather surround myself with positive people who believe that with hard work and dedication things will get better! So, to all my girls who look at that half-filled glass of red wine and see a very large pour, CHEERS to you, BIG GULPS, and let’s have ourselves a DAMN GOOD YEAR!
PS…What’s your favorite red👇? Asking for an overly optimistic, definitely not naïve friend who likes full bodied Cabs 💁♀️🍷
