👩🏽🎓 I became an officially matriculated Cambridge University student the 15th of October 2019. That’s exactly when I started my MPhil in Medical Science (Haematology).
Cambridge acknowledged our efforts with a “matriculation ceremony” in which each student had to sign THE BOOK. I just couldn’t believe I had the same chance as Stephen Hawking, Rosalind Franklin, Darwin, Newton, Ramanujan, Alan Turing, Emma Thomson, Jane Goodall…
This is what I signed using a fountain pen:
“I promise to observe the Statutes and Ordinances of the University as far as they concern me, and to pay due respect and obedience to the Chancellor and other officers of the University”. Oct 15th, 2019, Matriculation Ceremony at Newnham College.
I’m sharing this now as I’m graduating next week after postponing the ceremony for two years 👩🏽🎓 📚
