Lorena Ascencios, our head wine buyer, says this wine “drinks like lemonade.” Yes, please!
Full of thirst-quenching citrus, aromas of passionfruit, tart lemon flavors with notes of wet gravel. Müller-Thurgau is aged on lees in oak, Silvaner and Riesling are aged on lees in stainless. The final product is 60% M-T, 28% Silvaner, 12% Riesling. All direct press. The wine is not racked and is bottled unfined and unfiltered with zero addition of sulfur.
🦇And the bat, while cute, is honored on the label for another reason. Melanie Drese and Michael Völker use guano to fertilize their Müller-Thurgau vineyard. In return, they’ve set up several bat boxes to give the flying community a place to hang.
