I was chatting to a friend the other day and she was doubting herself because she thought she was too old. It really made me think. Us women have this warped idea that we have to have achieved our goals and successes by a certain age. But men, on the other hand, don't seem to have that mindset.
I started my own kids magazine when I was 41, I started my fashion Instagram account when I was 45. Yes, I have had a long career in fashion and I never veered too far away from what I knew. But I reinvented myself, learned new skills, adapted and grew and I'm now about to launch my own course.
For years I've doubted myself, thought it was too late for me, punished myself for leaving things too long. But why does it matter what our age is?
What matters is our energy, our talent, our kindness, our experience. Women of our age have so much to give.
It's never too late to start something new. To learn new skills. To experience new things. And just say fuck it.
