I’ve found there’s a strong correlation lately between how much of a knotted mess my ponytail is and 1 of 2 things (or both): (1) I worked myself during and run 😅 or (2) humidity is out of control. Started my run in a ☁️ and I def worked myself a bit today. 🥴
I was happy to be back running up a mountain now that national forests are open again in California. 🎉 I had a climbing workout (read: recovery between fartlek intervals up the mountain is continuing to climb). An aggressive start back to trails but I’m not here to have it easy on myself. 20 miles, 3.4K in vert, making myself eat real food @eatbobos and drink @maurten_official while working hard out there. A good assessment of where I am: strengths and weaknesses, but in the end fitness was gained.
Body felt heavy, efforts felt harder than a few months ago, but first long run trail workout 👍 is in the books.
Feeling that fire come back and wanting to work hard again. ⚡️
