Goods Shed Hunting. Back some 30 years ago this was a graveyard for Jaguars (that classic British marque, not the quadrupeds). Fat rusting hulks of automotive luxury littered this place; some were half-buried in the undergrowth. The yard has been cleaned up since my last visit, and I’m pleased to report that the old railway goods shed remains largely intact. The station was a quarter of a mile away, sandwiched between the river bridge and Usk Tunnel which still runs beneath the castle; it was too small an area to accommodate a goods yard. The line closed to passengers in 1955. Usk, Monmouthshire. Sitting in the Vale of Ewyas, along a long and winding back road that's more suited to horses than cars, Llanthony Priory is a stunning ruin that lies deep in a Welsh valley and is as secluded as you can get this side of Scotland. As an added bonus, there's a tiny old world hotel built into the side of the ruin which features a cellar bar incorporated into part of the priory's undercroft.
