Pondering this look. 🤔
Typically, white pants are thought of as a summer move that’s ill-advised coming into autumn. ⚠️
“No white after Labor Day” is the etiquette, apparently. ‼️
It’s an oft-repeated commandment that few, including myself, know the reason or history behind. (I looked it up for this post, but I won’t bother elaborating, as the whole thing has faded from public consciousness and care.) 🙃
And yet, rocking white pants after summers end into the fall has become increasingly trendy! ⚡️
They’re a blank slate that can be lasso’d into an autumnal color scheme by ensuring all of the other pieces are warm earth tones. 🎨
Textures helps contextualize the outfit as well, giving some visual cues to its seasonality. For instance, when you see suede and flannel, there’s no question that it’s a cold weather ensemble. 💯
So if you’re thinking about giving it a try as well, just remember!
✅ Employ the fall palette — particularly warm tones!
✅ Fall fabrics are a MUST!
❗️Winter has a slightly different set of best practices for white pants. Just be warned since we are only weeks away from the next season.
What do you folks think? White after Labor Day? Did I miss any key pieces for incorporating white pants with autumn attire?
