The top causes of cravings...
Deep study and observation have led me to the top causes of cravings and it's (in my opinion of course) a combination of the following:
• Not eating enough
• Habit and frame of reference
• Peer pressure
The stem of it all? Not eating enough... It's the root. It creates all of the justifications we love to use
If we don't eat enough, skip meals, portion control and go too long without eating, it's hard to say no to habit. Boredom eating is intensified on an empty stomach. It's hard to say no to friends and family. It's hard to make proper choices at the grocery store when we are starving after a long day. It's hard to drive past the drive thrus. It's hard to avoid stuff when we are stressed out. It's hard to be around food if you haven't eaten. It's not the food. It's our empty gas tank. Everything looks good when you're low on fuel. We all know this.
The body just wants fuel. When we are FULL UP it's easy to say no. It's easy to buy healthy food. It's easy to prepare food for later after eating. It's easy to say no at a party on a full stomach. It's better than willpower
Most justifications stem from the root of under eating. Making sure we have adequate fuel helps tremendously to keep cravings at bay. They only go away when you eat. So eat! Prepare in advance and eat healthy stuff. Stay full on the good stuff!
