🤩 A brand new board game: Schichtwechsel by @spielefaible ⛏
Another setup for two, which I like to do when learning a new game! This one was on my radar this year at @spiel_messe but I didn’t manage to play it there. Now I’m glad it arrived at my doorstep! 😊
It is a new coal mining game by Thomas Spitzer, who has created a trilogy of games about the Ruhr Area in Germany a few years ago – all about the high time of coal mining: Ruhrschifffahrt, Kohle und Kolonie and Haspelknecht. I’ve never played any of them, but they all give me a positive, warm euro-gamey feeling in my belly, when I read these titles ☺️ I am finally going to play a Spitzer coal game! 😊
And it looks and sounds great! The artwork is a bit faded, but it fits the theme! I might be spoiled by games like Brass Birmingham 😅
Have you played Schichtwechsel or any of the other coal mining games by Thomas Spitzer?

It is with a teary eye that we conclude our review of the successful game "Dune: Imperium" today.
𝗔𝗶𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲:
You take control of one of the Great Houses. You can choose between the Atreides, the Harkonnen, the Richese and the Thorvald. Each house has two leaders with different special abilities, one of whom you must choose at the start of the game. You use your agents turn by turn, for example to strengthen your reputation in the individual houses, to harvest spice or to send your warriors into conflicts. During the course of the game, you continuously build up your pack of cards and try to reach 10 or more victory points as quickly as possible. If someone reaches the target score of 10 victory points or all conflict cards are played, the game ends! All for the Spice! 😍
💬 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: "Like many others, Dune has really completely convinced us away from fanboyism. The game relies on numerous accents from the film of the same name and has played very smoothly and catchily since the first game. The cool combination of worker placement and deckbuilding makes many different player types and strategies feel at home in the game. The numerous cards and characters also promote an increased replay value. For us, one of the games of 2021 and from now on a permanent part of our collection 👍👍👍."
