✨ Why do we always catch ourselves overthinking? Probably because the world tells us to be successful but not to the point that we scare away men, be pretty but don’t be fake, don’t be a prude but also no one takes you seriously if you “put out”, you’re a trophy wife if you’re a stay at home mom, but you neglect your children if you have a full time career, you need to be thin and curvy at the same time. I could go on. Stop telling us we’re overthinking too much, and start accepting us for who we are. Then maybe we can stop sending ourselves into endless anxiety spirals.  📸 and words by: @hannaharand Tags . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . #feminism #womensrightsarehumanrights #blacklivesmatter #nohumanisillegal #prochoice #lgbt #pride #scienceisreal #metoo #loveislove #antiracism #diversity #marchforourlives #guncontrol #antitrump #intersectionalfeminism #unity #liberal #women #poc #democracy #neveragain #feminist #equality #patriarchy #femblm #blacklivesmatter #justice #systemicracism #antiracisteducator #nojustice

Why is our bridal store named “La Donna?”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Many people think that “Franco Uomo” is a first and last name, but “Uomo” is actually Italian for “Man.” While the brand has evolved and matured over the last decade, we have come to lean more on the “Uomo” as we have focused on creating custom clothing and more limited sample collections. It’s a shift towards individualization, customization, and bespoke craftsmanship where the customer becomes the vision and the center of attention.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When we decided to open a women’s clothing store and bring our bespoke craftsmanship service to the brides that our grooms were marrying, the name became obvious. “La Donna” is Italian for “The Woman,” and at La Donna, The Woman and the source of our inspiration is YOU.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instead of creating another designer label with a “vision” that could be bought, we created a brand whose only purpose was to serve the customer; to make her dreams come to life in the perfect wedding gown on pantsuit.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We’re very proud of the Custom Gowns and Garments that are being created by our team at La Donna and are excited to share our work with you as our first brides from 2020 are finally getting married!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @LaDonnaBridalAtelier + @FrancoUomo ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Designed on @SantanaRow ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #CustomMade⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #BridalGowns⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #Pantsuits

READ THIS FYI this post is not being insensitive as I myself had gone through pimples and body shaming. Secondly, this doesn't target any single gender, it's for everyone. Nobody has a flawless skin or body. But the fact is that these skin body positivity pages are promoting things that are either unhealthy, shabby or bad for us. Even if people don't consider this bad to eye, it would still be bad to skin and health. Having been from a doctor family, I understand why these tactics are harmful in the long run. A perfect picture of body, skin with body positivity caption doesn't break the streotype. No doubt nobody among us has a perfect body but we don't glorify our weaknesses as normal like ones who do. Acne don't have to be glorified, some ppl get mild but some even get severe or cystic acne. Why should you glorify something that makes you uncomfortable? You're making it feel like wow everyone should have acne, it makes you cool or trying to prove yourself "see I'm so strong, I'm sharing body positivity". You or me might not feel uncomfortable to see somebody with severe acne but there are people who not matter how much you promote this won't find it eye pleasing to see. Ppl who comment "stay strong" etc are the same ones who are just giving you sympathy. The pores of your skin become blocked with oil, dead skin, or bacteria in acne and you're saying acne skin is normal!!? You don't have to be insecure about it, you just have to treat it for your own betterment. Ignoring it under the cover of "body positivity" will harm you nobody else. Those who mock somebody for their skin or commit body shaming are idiots having been through insecurities themselves, you don't have to take them seriously. Loving yourself, your body and your skin also mean improving it and treating when something goes wrong. You're all beautiful and capable of improving yourself ❤️ #bodypositivity #skinpositivity #feminism #fakefeminism #acnepositivity #pimplepositivity #loveyourself #loveyourbody #acceptyourself #acceptyourbody #loveyourskin #acceptyourskin #racism #stopracism #spreadinglove #positivity #bodyshaming #bodyinsecurity #writersofinsta #writersofindia #vibes _of_a_lost_girl

Reminder that if your feminism upholds the gender binary & only centres cis women, it’s trash ‼️🗑 {also reminder that not all people who have vulvas are women!}
