I wrote about my experiences with imposter syndrome, medical gaslighting and acquiring a disability no-one can see, for @hireupaustralia today 💗
The link to the article is in my bio ✨
4.4 million people live with disabilities in Australia and 90% of them have an invisible condition. Think: mental health, chronic fatigue, neurodiversity, chronic pain, autoimmune disease and more.
In the article, I talk about how I hear the same story - my story - over and over again, mainly from other women.
We must do better by people with invisible disabilities, getting them the support and care they need, when they need it. Instead of leaving them to struggle alone.
Yesterday we were out 10am-8.45pm, we travelled to north, north London and the kids filmed an advert. I’m not allowed to share much about the ad, and it’s probably not going out on UK television 🙈 but hopefully I can share it once it’s done. Filming with kids is a long old day and although Audrey can definitely get grumpy and want to go home, she always brings the magic 💫. She just has “it”. Turns out Rexy’s not so bad at it either. There’s a lot of repetition, Audrey has an amazing knack for honesty, saying things like “Finally 🙄!” and even at one point saying “Bring me my real mummy!”(they were acting with a pretend mummy!). Highlights for them included a big taxi ride, the toys they got to play with and when the apple juice cartons arrived. #AwesomeAudreyEmily#KingRexyRoo#DownSyndromeSibling#Siblings

Posted @allisonelang I can’t believe it…
I woke up this morning to 10K of you following my account. Insane in the membrane 🤯 thank YOU.
Honestly, reaching a certain number has never been the main focus or goal of mine, it’s the deep connections I’ve been creating through this platform - connecting on a more personal level by sharing our stories with one other.
However, I do feel the OH WOW factor thinking of how I got here: just a very insecure girl trying to find her way in this sometimes harsh world.
I could not have become a more confident version of myself or been able to share this self love journey without the help and support of all of you.
Thank you for being here & thank you for being vulnerable with me. 🤍
And if you’re new here, WELCOME!
I’m looking forward to strengthening this community with you by my side. I appreciate you so much.

Make Way Day has certainly allowed us to highlight the obstacles and challenges created in our local area. These issues impact all members of the community.
