Why be bad at one sport when you can be bad at three....! Before it all went wrong! #blenheimtriathlon

10/10 first open water swim of 2021 this weekend training for London and Blenheim triathlons. Very chilly but so good to get back out in the water and practice siting - even if the cheeky lap marker bouys had moved a bit so the laps were either 170m or 430m.
Are y’all back out in the open water already?

I completed my first triathlon!!🥳
Blenheim Palace Super Sprint Triathlon in the bag ✅ and it felt sooo good! (Swipe for the after pic!)
It was a fantastic day, so well organised and such a great atmosphere despite restrictions on spectators. Highly recommend if you’re a swimmer or runner or cyclist, or even none of the above, to give a super sprint a go it’s so much fun! @blenheimpalacetriathlon you smashed it and we’ll be back for sure.
I gave it my absolute all and felt so emotional crossing the finish line! This was the biggest physical challenge I’ve ever undertaken and one of my biggest accomplishments so far. I’m so so pleased to have come 50th out of the 224 fabulous women who took part with a time of 1hr 16mins 58secs, only 2 mins over my goal so I’m buzzing!
More pics to come obvi😄

In this weeks edition of multi-sport preparation lessons we learned that playing 90mins of football ⚽️ in the sunshine the day before a triathlon is not good for you. 🌞
Last week we found that 4 hours sleep was not enough to prepare for a duathlon. And last year we learned that 6 days of swim training was not enough to swim 750m without dying four times.
That being said…. Swim PB! 15.47 for the 750m. 🏊🏽♂️
The legs burned on the cycle. 🚴🏽Then died on the run. 🏃🏽Kept it moving though and got it finished! Beautiful location. And now my abs show through my tri suit. So it isn’t all bad!

Blenheim triathlon is next Saturday. Taking the training up a gear before we start tapering. I always say yoga makes all other exercise easier and other exercise makes yoga harder. Yoga has helped me enormously with my swimming, cycling and running. When you learn to tune into your body and mind, everything can be a meditation-sports included. Yoga also helps you learn how to pace yourself: slow and steady, in it for the long haul. My husband Chris has been in hospital on a drip this week with cellulitis on his arm from an insect bite but thankfully on the mend. Doesn’t it feel like there is always something? #blenheimtriathlon
