I'm beyond excited to officially announce that I am now a Flanci sponsored athlete.
It all started in 2016 when I began my running journey.
I was the gurl, all in black, hoping no one noticed I was there. Conscious of every race photo, insecure how people might perceive me.
In 2019 I discovered @flanciactivewear and bought myself a pair of Unicorn Shorts, which quicky became my go to race shorts.
I was taken back by the Flanci community, a community of women and men whom I perceived as fearless because they were all wearing the most colourful bright leggings and shorts, and yet I was surprised to see that they too were expressing and feeling the same insecurities that I felt.
Men and women, despite those insecurities caused by the conformity of society, all empowered by their right to shine brightly no matter what their gender, size, ethnicity or physical ability may be.
I realised this was more then just a fashion brand, Flanci represented the running community in all it's glory and truth.
I took the time to learn more about Flanci and the owners @nickylovestorunfar and Alf (and of cause Billy, the Flanci dog). I loved their passion for their then small business, their drive and the belief in their dream.
I became a Flanci ambassador and began to fly the Flanci flag loud and proud.
Now I'm the gurl who's personality shines with confidence. I'm the gurl who has the most colourful running kit because bright, bold patterns are such a good mood booster! Wherever I go people comment on my colourful running skorts, shorts and leggings.
I wear them for parkruns and I wear them for 200 mile ultras. I wear them to run, to gym, to hike and to relax in, I wear them everywhere.
A massive thankyou to everyone at Flanci, especially Nikki and Alf whom have helped, supported and empowered me over the last two and a half years... the adventure continues.
