In Moradillo de Roa, Spain, you will find one of the greatest efforts by a community to preserve the history of wine.
Known as “El Cotarro”, this ensemble of underground cellars is comprised of 18,000 square meters of structures and tunnels which include 157 individual cellars and 7 wine making caves. All of it now belongs to different members of the community after in 2015 the town and a few wine history activists from the area launched a project to restore the “Barrio de Bodegas”.
A must visit site when exploring Ribera del Duero! 🍇🍷✈️
P.S. Thank you @nachoviticultura for taking us inside this magical underground neighborhood and for your efforts in helping this project come to fruition!
