This piece is to leave the studio today. I didn’t have time to add hanging hardware and signature before my knee replacement surgery. Luckily I have a chair lift.
Thank you so much to everyone who has expressed well wishes and prayers for my recovery from double knee replacement.❤️❤️❤️ Here is a video update on how well it is going.
Those of you familiar with my work may have noticed a southwestern flavor to my art. This is not something that I consciously set out to accomplish. I think that it is an authentic culmination of years of following my personal inclinations, paying attention to and learning from, my true likes and dislikes. I have come to the realization that my appreciation and interpretation of nature and its processes may be influenced by my Native American heritage. I know it’s not evident, but I am a registered elder in the Cherokee nation. My father, James William Hall was 3/4 Cherokee. I am becoming aware that the essence of that culture is reflected as a contemporary expression in my art. This realization has encouraged me to embrace this direction as I go forward. Hopes and energy for 2024.
