WAU @wau.nyc located on the upper west side is managed by Executive Chef Salil Mehta, who also is the owner of Laut, which was one of the first Malaysian restaurants in NYC to receive a Michelin Star. WAU delivers promising and authentic flavors of Southeast Asian cuisine that consists of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand while integrating the diverse and discerning palates of New York City. Doors open up to a beautifully decorated restaurant with the perfect lighting along with amazing staffs and super fast service. Cocktails are all hand crafted and goes perfectly with all appetizers and entrees. Portions are generous with excellent choice of plates to accompany each mouth watering dish. They have one of the best murtabak which is a Malaysian-Indian stuffed pancake. Farmers Kaprow Basil is cooked just like an authentic Southeast Asian local restaurant. Their Nasi Padang is cooked and then wrapped inside a big banana leaf for that perfect delicate flavor. They have an excellent variety of desserts so remember to save room!
