Patricia “Miss Pat” Chin, a renowned Chinese-Indian Jamaican entrepreneur, played a pivotal role in founding VP Records with her husband, Vincent “Randy” Chin. Established in 1979, VP Records became a global powerhouse in reggae and dancehall music.
The journey began with humble beginnings, firstly Vincent selling records from his garage in 1958 then later together opening their shop on 17 North Parade ‘Randy’s Records’ in Kingston, 1962, before relocating to New York City.
Miss Pat’s unwavering dedication and business acumen propelled VP Records to work with reggae legends like Sean Paul, Beenie Man, and Buju Banton.
Throughout her career, Miss Pat has been recognized for her contributions to the reggae music industry, receiving numerous awards and accolades. She remains a driving force in the reggae scene, continuing to champion the genre and its ambassadors.
