I don’t think I’ve ever really introduced myself. I’d like to thank you for all your support, comments & interactions. I really do appreciate it! Here are 10 things you may or may not know about me! 🇬🇧🇨🇦 I’m originally from the UK & moved to British Columbia, Canada in 2007 🐺 My sidekick @jack_thewolfskin is a 7 year old Alaskan Malamute with a mind of his own & he still has the ability to pull me off my feet (last night chasing a rabbit!) 🏝️ I lived on a small, 500 acre island in the UK for 10 years (Brownsea Island) 📷 I often dream in f stops 🙋‍♀️ My personality type is INFP. I don’t enjoy large crowds of people & much prefer being in nature alone or with a few close friends 🎨 My dream for many years was to be a fine art sculptor (I started but didn’t finish a fine art degree) 🏞️ I used to work for Europe’s largest conservation charity 🖼️ I studied World Art Studies & Museology at university with a main focus on Peru & Amazonia 📷 I find it hard to classify myself as a photographer as my work covers multiple genres. I prefer to have the possibility to take my work in any direction that interests me, rather than being boxed into any particular genre 🟥🟦🟨 I have a form of synesthesia that allows me to experience shapes & colours in different ways

Antarctica lends itself to minimalism. In this image, I loved the shape of the distant mountains & enjoyed waiting to capture the antics of the Adelie penguins as they moved through the scene. I caught this one at a run as he plunged towards the ocean.

Hiking into the alpine on Sunday, the trail was relentlessly steep (or was it the lack of sleep from my previous week’s activities or maybe the 30 plus degrees). Either way, it was a slog. There were so many beautiful scenes around me. The False Helibore was more lush and dark as the elevation increased. A thunder storm rumbled in the distance & the wind picked up. I photographed a few of these small vignettes, battling increasing movement in the plants & also wishing I’d brought my tripod. Supported by @nikoncanada & @kasefiltersglobal

Storm clouds rolling in over the mountains created an ominous mood.

Some late evening light on the coast of the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. Looking forward to heading into some mossy damp & forests for the next few days! 🌲

A Song Sparrow’s lack of colour is made up for by their beautiful song! In the last couple of weeks the birds have increased their activity massively which is lovely to see & hear!

After the recent few days of warm temperatures & spring sunshine, it’s hard to believe we have more winter in the forecast! Snow is apparently coming our way! Winter isn’t done with us yet! 🌨️

I stumbled upon her deep in the backroads, silently sitting on her nest like a hanging jewel in the branches. I unintentionally interrupted her quiet world. I respectfully visited again 2 weeks later & she was still patiently sitting on her nest. I wanted to capture her environment in the hope of conveying how tiny & jewel like she appeared in the branches.

I do miss the trees in Scotland. We encountered some lovely specimens during our workshop back in November.

These are RAW files straight out of camera so they’ll tend to look quite flat. I use the Kase polarizing filter for the Armour system. I can use it with or without the filter holder but the fact that it’s magnetic means it’s super quick & easy to attach. Rotating the filter helps me reduce distracting reflections in the water & it also saturates the colours in the scene more. #kaseglobal
