Raise your hand if bench is your favorite lift 🙌— it is for @soph.squats . Here’s here why: ⬇️ “It’s a different vibe than squat or deadlift. It allows me to relax and have fun. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still focused. It’s just more of a fun focused. I come out all smiles. Give my spotter a fist bump. Win the unrack, nail the lift. Pop up off the bench. Look for the lights. Celebrate with @hartmanperformance Thankful I got the opportunity to do this twice at the @arnoldsports Festival in the Equipped Pro Series Finals & Bench Pro Series Finals. This was my first bench PR of the day at 142.5kg/314lbs. Followed it up hitting 145kg/319lbs in the afternoon.” @barbellproductions captured the energy perfectly! 🎥 #USAPowerlifting #USAPL #a7intl #rpstrength

Meet Garrett Bailey-- State Chair for Louisiana!🔥 Read his story and goals below!⬇️ "I started lifting in 2010 because LSU had disbanded their wrestling team right after I graduated high school and I had met some of their Powerlifting team in freshman classes. At the end of my first year of lifting, I had gone 9 for 9 for the first time and had broken several state and national records. Later, I became obsessed with breaking records, but I noticed that the records in Louisiana had been several years behind. I asked the state chair at the time if I could be the state's records keeper, and for the next 5 years, I updated and upgraded how the Louisiana records were kept and maintained. Eventually, I gained an interest in how rules were made; volunteering several times to be the proxy for voting at the NGB meetings. By 2014, I had won my first international competition and started the Louisiana Legends (a Powerlifting Team geared towards helping lifters outside of well established programs continue to national levels and beyond) which had placed second at RAW Nationals in the men's division. Eventually I started hosting meets of my own and began setting my sights on the state chair position. For the next several years I participated in every capacity I could in the sport from lifting, to spotting and loading, to being a referee at the state and national levels, coaching and refereeing high schools, coaching others and looking for what Louisiana needs to be better in the sport. What I find most fulfilling is creating more opportunities for the lifters of Louisiana to progress into the national level and beyond." Way to go, Garrett! We can't wait to see what you do for your state. @bottesy #USAPowerlifting #USAPL #a7intl #rpstrength #Louisiana
