ukiyo-e started as a passion project, little did I know that my little pop-up cafe will be the start of the many passion projects I did this year. ✨
I’ve had speaking and teaching engagements, brewed coffee for so many people, joined bootcamps, and trainings on my own, and put up a safe little space ( @brewedawakening.ukiyoe ) for coffee people like 🧩 me 🤓♾️
I will always be grateful for your support and for believing in me. Wouldn’t have made it this far, without you, guys. Have a happy-jolly Holidays! 💝
Engage in a culinary exploration with VegWorkshop as Mabi David of Good Food Community holds a "Kusinang Bayan" communal cooking and conversation with community nanays and let’s dive into the world of coffee with KG Reyes, owner of ukiyo-é café, in "Coffee 101: Caffeine & Kindness." 🥗☕️
Immerse yourself in these enriching workshops that celebrate good food and the art of brewing.

Let’s learn about beans, and make yum yum lattes? Yes!! We are so thrilled that our friends from Oatside sponsored this event!
This will be an interactive talk— a fun and friendly brewing session! So, feel free to bring your own equipment (coffee beans if you like, too), and maybe I can teach you ways to make your brews tastier, we can even learn from each other. 🫶
Come! This will be fun!

I learned something very important today. The purpose of solidarity is to build a movement, and to embody a mutual care and concern for justice, while using our privilege to even the playing field and help others.
We don’t advocate for charity anymore because it suggests a belief in a hierarchal system, an ‘us’ and ‘them’ thing. Solidarity takes a systems change approach fighting for the same objective.
Salamat, Good Food Sundays! Again, thanks to all who contributed and supported this cause. You all know who you are! ✊

Please, allow me to use what skills I have to give back and serve our farmers and the urban poor community. ♥️
Again, this is this coming Sunday, and I will be a regular at @goodfoodsundays for a solidarity coffee share! Yes, you read that right, a FREE brew sesh and coffee talk once a month— and proceeds will feed families of the urban poor communities. Please feel free to share this post so the right people can reach this. Again, thank you! 🫶

Hanlo! Been wanting to do this for so long, and I mustered enough courage to message GFS about it. ✊
It is important that everyone should have access to good coffee— this has been my personal ethos; to teach people how to brew a good cup in methods and ways that are accessible to all.
Please bring your reusables if you can cos coffee doesn’t really taste good if you drink it from a paper/plastic cup. Come! Your small contribution can feed families of the urban poor communities.
Also, friends, who want to support in any way they can, (esp my coffee friends— beans, supplies, etc) you know where to find me. ♥️
I just want to share that I am so happy that I didn’t die today. I probably brewed a hundred cups in front of so many people, and everyone loved my recipe. Okay, that is all. Time to sleep! 🥹🤸♀️
