Deviled eggs are a MUST for Easter, and I have some tips and tricks that make a big difference in this recipe! (💬 Comment with the word "Eggs" and I'll DM you the recipe link!)
🥚Cooking the Eggs: My favorite method for hard boiling eggs is to place them in a pot, fill with 2 inches of cool water, and gradually bring them to a boil. Once a boil is reached, place the lid on top, remove from the heat, and let them sit for 12 minutes. Then rinse them with cool water to stop the cooking process.
🥚Peeling the Eggs: I’ll be honest, I spent almost an entire day testing every peeling method in the book. My favorite method of them all isn’t very exciting, but it works! Simply crack the wider end of the egg on a hard surface and use your fingers to begin peeling. Slide a spoon in between the shell and the egg and rotate the egg until the shell lifts and is removed. (Super fresh eggs are going to be difficult to peel no matter what, so aim for ones that are a little older.)
🥚Filling Tip
#1 : Once the egg yolks are scooped out, combine them with white vinegar while they're still warm. The vinegar helps to prevent discoloration and enhances the flavor.
🥚Filling Tip
#2 : Add the mayo when the yolks have cooled to avoid an oily consistency.
🥚Making Them Ahead: These are best if prepared 1 day ahead of time, but they can be prepared 2 days ahead if needed!
