“ Parāoa “
-
A fine art limited print from the sea
-
What characterizes Parāoa, is the unique spiral caused by the whale’s fluke.
With one tail movement, this gigantic animal disappears within seconds in the oceans depths.
I captured this moment times and times again, but this is the first spiral photo I have ever caught on camera.
-
I hesitated a long time before sharing this photo
~~
I am finally sharing it because it is not my picture, it is nature’s gift to all

Mo’orea 60 years ago
-
Before sailboat invasion
Before people migration
Before development madness
-
I’m not blaming anyone expect ourselves.
We, the locals, are the gatekeepers of our sacred lands. Our actions, our voice, our rules.
-
Sadly the more people migrate to our islands, the less our voices are strong
-
I’ll keep using my social media to promote nature preservation
-
The rest is dust in the wind
-
So many people advertising Mo’orea for money
-
You don’t love Mo’orea, you love fame and status
-
Thank you for reading
~~
Stay strong Mo’orea 🤍

Driving down the dirt roads of Nuku Hiva when this beauty appeared behind the vegetation
-
Last full moon of 2023 was something else
-
It reminds us how powerful, soft and mesmerizing nature is
-
I would love for 2024 to be even more wild, more nature, more ocean, more birds, more earth and for sure less city

3rd day of the Matavaa
-
Different tribes from different islands gathered in the valley of Kamuihei
-
They each sang and danced ancient ways from their respective islands
-
Blessing the land that carries us and the food it gives to our bodies
-
It’s crazy to think such respect for the land is now looked over and trivialized
-
We get so lost in building a carrier we loose touch with Earth
-
I am always grateful and inspired by the people who keep this connection alive

Koutau Nui te mau Tama Enana

The Enana people
-
Feared by English and Europeans colonisators
-
The wars kept on going but the natives kept repelling the invaders
-
They went with spears and war-clubs against guns and canons
-
Yet, what almost decimated all the Enana people is the new sicknesses they got exposed to
-
Warriors from their bones to their breathe, today they still carry the strength of their ancestors within them

Portraits of the Enana people from “Matavaa O Te Henua Enana”
-
Celebrating our connection to the land, the sea, the skies
-
In times where occidental way of life is taking over the world, indigenous people like the Marquesians are celebrating their culture to keep it alive
-
In times where materialism is taking over true identities
-
Let’s keep our hearts strongly connected to our land and remember where true strength comes from, where true peace comes from
~~
Thank you to the people that still speak the language of earth

A couple frames from ageless Bora Bora
-
Actually named Pora Pora,
the island was so advertised by Americans
that the letter P became a B
-
B does not exist in the Polynesian language
-
Pora Pora, seen from afar,
surrounded by it’s oldest inhabitants

Printed fine art paper,

Maupiti seen from Bora Bora right before nightfall
-
While the sun sets behind the island of Maupiti, on the left, a bird is coming back from hunting all day at sea.
On the right, a boat of four fisherman is going out to hunt while the fish are asleep.
-
Everything was moving fast, I was very lucky to capture this fleeting moment of the Polynesian lifestyle
~~
Available as fine art print on demand
