Women of all ages (and it’s becoming younger and younger) are OBSESSED with these so called beauty products thanks to the very clever marketing of the cosmetics industry, the beauty industry and the perfume industry. IF ONLY women could see the thousands of harmful chemicals in each of these products and knew of their carcinogenic, endocrine disrupting, allergic and neurotoxic effects. The negative impact of these harmful chemicals may not manifest for many years later. Women have been BRAINWASHED into believing that they need to have these products in order to look beautiful. The truth of the matter is that REAL BEAUTY comes from developing a positive relationship with yourself and from nature. It comes from eating nourishing wholefoods with ample fats, from drinking filtered water, from sunshine, from moving your body, from plenty of sleep and rest and from MINIMISING TOXIC EXPOSURE. When it comes to what to apply to your skin, less is more, and a really good general rule of thumb is IF YOU CAN’T EAT IT DON’T PUT IT ON YOUR SKIN. I alternate between extra virgin cold pressed organic olive oil, @youngliving essential oils, @youngliving face and body moisturisers and cleansers, beef tallow based face cream by @barefootskincareco . My make up is minimal but I love lipsticks by @karenmurrellofficial and mascara by @ereperezcosmetics and @inikaorganic . My perfumes are @youngliving essential oils- the original perfumes that raise your vibration 🌱🪴 DM me to learn more or set you up with @youngliving wholesale account.

2 of my fav go-to side dishes which are easy to make and I typically have all the ingredients in my fridge and pantry: 1. Roast beetroot with garlic and parsley and EVO 2. Avocado and cucumber with miso dressing (a winner with the kids and loaded with healthy fats). See IG stories for the How To. Drop me a 💖 if you want to try making one of these and if so which one?

It’s easy to see why autumn is my favourite month here in Sydney esp living by the sea. The humidity drops, the water temp is still warm, the days are clear and sunny and the water in Bronte could not be more clear if it tried. Tahiti vibes every day. This is where I spend 30-60 minutes a day in middle of day resting and doing a yoga nidra deep relaxation practice under the warmth of the sun. It’s my happy place. Drop me a comment below if you too love Autumn in Sydney. And let me know where your happy place is! #beachbummum #beach #funplayconnection #nature #staraniseorganic #ocean #beachlife #thisbeachlife #outdoors #ocean #sunshine #nature #staraniseorganic #vitaminD #rest

📌 ACTIVATING NUTS… activating is simply an industry term that means properly preparing nuts to make them more nutritious and digestible, by a 2 step process of: 1. soaking them overnight (or all day) in filtered water and then straining and rinsing them; then 2. Dehydrating them at no more than 55C in a dehydrator oven for 1-5 days (depending on the nut variety) until crispy. This is different to roasting nuts which doesn’t entail the first necessary soaking step and secondly roasting typically is done at high temps which destroys enzymes. The reason we activate nuts is because: ❌ all nuts and seeds contain phytic acid in their outer husk which traps the nutrients in the nuts and seeds making them unavailable to the body. ❌Phytic acid also irritates the lining of the gut potentially making it leaky. ❌ Phytic acid also destroys enzymes in your gut which are necessary to digest your food. Essentially this means that eating raw nuts ain’t great for your guts often leading to gas, bloating and pains. All traditional societies the world over discovered that by SOAKING raw nuts first in rain water and then sun drying them, this reduced the phytic acid in the nuts making the nutrients in them available to the body and making the nuts more digestible. Plus they are soooo much more delicious! In honouring ancestral wisdom, best practice is to soak raw (organic) nuts in filtered water for at least several hours and then dehydrate them at 55C to your desired level of crispyness. You don’t need to dehydrate them - you can simply strain and rinse and pop them in fridge but wet nuts will only keep for a few days before going mouldy…. This is fine if you’re adding to muesli or wet food. But if you don’t want to eat soggy nuts you’ll need to dehydrate in your oven or dehydrator oven or buy activated nuts. I started activating nuts 17 years ago and was one of the first in Oz to make and sell organic activated nuts. These are now sold Australia wide via our online store (link in IG bio) or at @brothbarandlarder . What is your fav variety of activated nut that we sell? Drop a line in connect below 👇 and go into the draw to win a 120g bag of mixed nuts…drawn 3 April!

📌 SAVE THIS POST 📌 The 2024 Environmental Working Group’s Clean 15 and Dirty Dozen was recently released. ✅ The Clean 15 are the 15 items of produce that had the lowest amounts of pesticide residues, according to EWG’s analysis of the most recent USDA data. These are typically not sprayed with pesticides so FEEL FREE TO BUY CONVENTIONAL VERSIONS OF THESE (subject to the provision below). ❌ Conversely the Dirty Dozen are 12 fruits and vegetables that are most contaminated with pesticides. SO ALWAYS BUY CERTIFIED ORGANIC VERSIONS OF THESE OR FROM A SUPPLIER YOU KNOW WHO DOESNT SPRAY. These are based on USA farming practices which are similar to Australia however conventional corn in Australia is typically genetically modified so I personally always buy organic corn (which can’t be GMO). If you can’t buy organic produce for whatever reason (cost, availability etc), then you can rinse your conventional produce in the @youngliving Thieves Fruit & Veg soak which removes wax and pesticide residue that coats sprayed produce. You need a YL wholesale account to buy this product so just DM me to set up one for you and you’ll get a free diffuser if you sign up before the end of March! PS I’ll add the graphics to my highlight reel for easy access when you’re out shopping! 🛒

Officially my new fav biscuit from @brothbarandlarder : CHOC CHIP… I’m obsessed 🙈 • artisan • dairy free • grain free • organic • refined ingredients free I doubt you’d find a healthier choc chip cookie in the world! We couldn’t find ready-made organic choc chips that didn’t have crappy ingredients in them … so we use our own sokolata (raw dark chocolate) off cuts and make our own choc chips. This means we have zero waste from our chocolate making. Cool huh?! Have you tried? What do you think of them? Comment below 👇 and go into the draw to grab a free choc chip cookie from @brothbarandlarder . Winner announced 30 March by electronic spin the wheel.

I recommend you pick a min of 2 nights of the weeks as your seafood nights. Tuesday and Fridays are mine. Routine = less stress. 🦪 Oysters with wild salmon roe from The Canadian Way sold at @brothbarandlarder with a drizzle of fresh lemon. A powerhouse of nutrients. I try to eat 1/2dz a week for zinc which is important for immunity, concentration and strong nails (among other things). 🥦 steamed Broccoli pimped up with pine nuts and goats cheese 🍅 a very basic cherry tomato, red onion, parsley and basil salad with EVO and balsamic. See IG stories for the wild barra as I forgot to take photos of it but my trick is to cook in with lots of sliced garlic and olive oil and butter on low heat until it is cooked through then season with an unrefined salt and sesame seed seasoning and lemon juice. #seafood #staraniseorganic #wholefoods #traditionalwholefooods #nutrientdense #traditionalfoods #realfood #wellfed #consciousconsumption   #foodismedicine #foodasmedicine
