Easily one of my fav places I stayed in South America
📍Secret Garden Cotopaxi, Ecuador
This is a lodge right outside the Cotopaxi National Park that has both dorm style rooms for backpackers and unique private lodging like cabins and hobbit holes. From the lodge you can do an excursion to Cotopaxi, trek to other surrounding peaks, do a short waterfall hike, go horseback riding in the valley, or just hang here. The view in the morning especially is absolutely beautiful (as you can see) and they even have llamas on the property that you can feed.
But besides how amazing all this sounds, my favorite part of Secret Garden Cotopaxi is the emphasis on community.
This place is pretty much always full of travelers, and because the most popular way to book is with a 3 day all-inclusive package, when you arrive you’re doing so with a group who you quickly get to know. On top of that, all meals are family style (and delicious btw), there’s game nights, and the excursions all end around the same time so everyone just hangs out together.
Beyond one my favorite places I’ve stayed, this is definitely one of my favorite experiences in Ecuador that I highly, highly recommend to anyone.
