⚜️ Temple History ⚜️
💠 According to the villagers, there is a story that connects the temple to ancient history, perhaps its roots dating back to the Pandavas period.
It is believed that Rani Kamala Devi will travel from her kingdom in Karnataka to Chandore via Tambadi Surla for business.
During her travels, she and her troops pause to rest and perform rituals to honor their goddess.
To facilitate the worship of this Shiva, Rani Kamala Devi built a temple in this place, which we now call as Tambadi Surla Temple.
💠 In the middle of this temple mandapam there is a headless Nandi (bull, Shiva's vehicle), surrounded by four matching pillars. The symbol of the Kadamba kingdom "elephant riding a horse" is engraved on the foundation of a pillar.
💠 This temple has beautiful statues of Vishnu and Kalabhairavu.
Amazing ceiling sculpture made of Shiva Parvati, Ganesh, Brahma, and Ashtabhuja Lotus in temples. Nandi Hall is 3 sides open and has 4 full pillars and 6 half pillars.
