Last one best one. Just wished I would have marked it. My mantra going into this last jump was to get one good one for @coachtoddjumps . It’s all I kept thinking. He deserves to see all the hard work finally put together. Unfortunately it just wasn’t my time. I have had too many obstacles come up in the last 4 years and just haven’t been able to put the season I wanted together. This jump shows I was on finally on my way to where I wanted to be. I have had so many different feelings in the last couple days and so much I want to say, but for now I’ll leave with this: Training after college has by far been the hardest thing I have ever done. I have had to sacrifice so much to get to this point and be selfish with my time and lifestyle. I want to give a HUGE thank you to my coach, my parents, my sponsor, my friends & family, and all the people who never make me feel guilty and never doubted me. That support really meant the world to me. And on that note, this Havre, MT native is officially retired!

DRIVE PHASE Here is an easy way to teach a drive phase when sprinting I usually try to use a slight incline. This helps them understand knee drive, arms, and angles better as well as force production. You have to drive harder to move uphill. Then I take them to flat ground. Usually the first thing you see is the athlete take a super quick first step. That’s because now they are flat and use the same timing as a hill. I find it helpful to set a cone or other visual marker in front so they know around where they should be pushing too. Then I tell them to PUSH of their front foot hard and let their back leg fully extend before moving to the next step. The other thing to be mindful of is their angles. No rounded back, not too leaned over, and be sure to have a tight core. The better their angles the more likely they are to drive out longer. Hope this helps! Want to work with me? Have a question? START USING YOUR ARMS Jumping is a total body exercise. If you want to get some serious lift off the ground then start using the arms. When arms aren’t use the chest and shoulders often drop. This means all our momentum is going down vs up. Here we use simple drills to bring the arms UP with us when we jump. A few drills aren’t seen here but the important part is that both arms come up and BLOCK in front. We never want passive arms. Everything we do has purpose and reason. Hope this helps someone 👊👊 If you have questions or want to work with me, message me! I do consults, 1-on-1, and host clinics 🤗🤗 #longjump #jump #athletics #trackandfield #jumpnation #azathletics

Weak Hips & Glutes = Weak Athlete Too often athletes become faster than their body can handle. What do I mean by that? I mean the strength to handle their own force production is lacking. This can lead to injury AND plateau in sport. By teaching athletes how to bring knees up and land without the hip dipping side to side we create a POWERHOUSE! The first two videos show the difference driving your knee up can make, the next shows what it looks like to maintain speed AND not have any breaking points in your hips, then the last couple videos show drills that help athletes develop the strength needed to handle force production. 🤗have questions? Common questions I get asked “Do you coach any non-track athletes?” YES!! Actually a large portion of the athletes I coach don’t even compete in track “Do you coach all ages?” Yes! I coach youth athletes all the way to professional and masters “Can you help me get faster?” Yes, if you follow my program and put the work in 🗣️If you are looking to work with me, message me ASAP. I have a few spots left but they are filling quick!! #sportsperformance #youthsports #professionalsports #azathletics #aztraining #springtraining

WHY AREN’T YOUR JUMPS IMPROVING?!?! You worked on getting faster? Cool You worked on getting stronger? Awesome Here’s the thing, we need power. That consists of using both those things AT THE SAME TIME! It seems easy, but can be harder to put together than you think. Here I was working with @bobcatstrack athlete Simone on creating more power off the board. She has a tendency to run off vs. really jump. Simone is strong. She strength trains and sprint trains. She just didn’t know how to put that strength into use when jumping so we got to work. In order to achieve this we worked on teaching her use the speed and strength she’s worked on to really drive through the ground. I have some drills not seen here that I will try and share later. By the end of the session she was noticeably putting her foot down more aggressively at the board which results in more height. If you have any questions, want to work with me, or need some drills shoot me a dm! #longjump #horizontaljumps #trackandfield #athletics #jumpnation
