On December 20, 2022, I had the honour to deliver my First Speech on the Opening Day of the 60th Victorian Parliament, as the Member for Nepean.

Premier Jacinta Allan is either incompetent and not fit for purpose or, deliberately conning the entire state of Victoria. In todays @heraldsun I’ve laid out exactly why Premier Allan is a danger to the future of our state and why Victorians deserve better. https://bit.ly/49bHxqO Such is her reputation at destroying events, internal attacks within her own party have apparently earned her the nickname “Minister for Fyre Festival” The $600m wasted on the Games amounts to $230 for every Victorian household, imagine what that could do for so many families.

It’s always a good day when my twin boys stop past the office. One of the main reasons I got in to politics was so that I can be a part of making this the best state in Australia. The best state for my kids futures, the best state to be educated, to work or build a business. The best state to buy a house and one day, for them to start a family of their own. We certainly have work to do, but I’ll do everything I can to stay true to that commitment.

The Victorian Auditor General’s report into the Commonwealth Games debacle is damning of the Allan Labor Government. It has highlighted massive waste and clear mismanagement by Premier Allan who previously was Minister for Commonwealth Games Delivery. Jacinta Allan must take responsibility for her failures and resign.

Today’s VAGO report into the Allan Labor Governments Commonwealth Games debacle is a dark day for all Victorians. We deserve a government focused on delivering for Victorians, not one focused on misleading them.

Jacinta Allan lied to Victorians about the Commonwealth Games catastrophe and it is costing taxpayers over $600 million for nothing at all.

After scoring a massive payout following the debacle that was the Commonwealth Games, Jeroen Weimar has now been given the job of coordinating the states housing program. That’s a job paying more than $500,000 per year to someone who has an atrocious record when it comes to delivering for Victoria. The Premier and Minister must explain how this appointment is appropriate given Mr Weimar’s track record and the massive payout he just received from Victorians.

It has been another big week in Parliament. While I’ve raised a number of local issues, together with my Liberal & National colleagues, I’ve also highlighted serious concerns with the government around cost of living, community safety and our emergency services. We’ll continue to pursue the Allan Labor Government on the issues that Victorians are concerned about because we know Victorians deserve better.

Victorians need to be confident that when they sign a contract and pay a deposit to build their dream home, that their deposit is secure, and their home will be completed. A bill introduced this week increases penalties for dodgy builders who do the wrong thing, which is an important change, but more needs to be done to ensure the hard-earned deposits of consumers are not lost when a builder goes bust. Victorians work hard to save and afford a home, they deserve every protection possible to ensure collapses like Porter Davis and Montego Homes don’t destroy their dreams.
