Blue Wraps! These I’m calling Cozmic Galaxy Wraps 💙🌀 To make them I used Terrasoul Blue Spirulina powder (DM if you want a link) to make these and they look so fun! All I did was add 2 tsp of the powder to one batch of the Everything but the Bagel wrap. It’s the perfect blue. The blue pigment is antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. The effects of phycocyanin can lessen the oxidative stress response of neurons, reduce inflammation and regulate immunity. Phycocyanins are blue in color which results from their absorption of red-orange wavelengths of light. Our raw wraps are vegan, gluten free, oil free, low fat, high fiber, high variety, gut healthy, delicious, easy to make, fun and great for travel, work, school or just because! Another TOP fave camping meal: TACOS! We make the taco grounds and sauces (nacho cheese and sour cream) before we leave so all we have to make at camp is the salsa, guacamole and chop any other toppings we want. It’s super easy and I love sitting at the table just enjoying the chopping out in nature. Seriously they are SO EASY! Making Hand Salads: • The night before (around 5pm) we blend, pour, spread onto trays and put into dehydrator - takes us 12 mins • The next day we blend a sauce (7 minutes) • Chop veggies for inside (5 mins or more depending what’s going in them - mixed greens, pre shredded cabbages, sprouts and microgreens take hardly any prep!) • Fill, wrap and cut (4 minutes) Lunch = done! Raw curried hummus with marinated topping! Just like with a cooked food diet, raw food can be either fast and easy, or a little more time is needed to prepare. It really depends on what YOU want! I personally love being in the kitchen making art with my food so I don’t mind if a few special dishes take more time, as some did in my past as well. In general most stuff is about 15-20 mins of prep unless it’s a more intricate recipe. Many easy things like fruit is 30 seconds to chop or peel, smoothies are 5 mins… I like to put music on or an audio book while making my meals to learn as I create! Also - getting excited about making a meal can help a lot if it’s feeling like a chore. If it’s hard to start preparing any meal, like if you’re tired after a long day and need dinner or to prep for tomorrow, or you are battling resistance, etc, I like to break it down into small tasks that snowball into the others. Like just open the fridge or take out the knife and cutting board. Chop the lettuce. Etc. Just ONE step at a time until it’s done. Sometime I’ll tell myself “just blend the dressing” and “just chop these tomatoes” to break the task into smaller focuses. This Hot Harissa sauce is off the charts delicious! And yes the chickpeas are sprouted. I have been eating pretty much nothing but savory the last few days and loving it!!!! I’m a savory girl at heart all the way. Love my fruit for sure, but salads are definitely my passion and make me the happiest! Being in the kitchen so much, I’ve started my days with the salads and the recipes I’ve been making for this new eBook. So many new favorites now! I haven’t had gnocchi in over 10 years…. This RAW (yes this is raw!) gluten free, and vegan version was so good it took me back to my early 20s and trips to Italy. Gnocchi was one of my top fave Italian dishes and is one of those super time consuming meditating things to make. It’s usually an all day affair for Italian nonnas and mammas and this one still takes time, rolling each gnocchi by hand on the riga (line) board, but was soooooooo worth it!!! The marinara I made was perfect too and I couldn’t be happier with this recipe. I made sure to save some for Nate because he comes home tomorrow! This was likely one of my top BEST most fave recipes I have ever made. It’s a Chana Masala (yes it’s raw!) with sprouted chickpeas and is coming to a new recipe eBook this May. We are reward driven creatures and many of us were taught to view the food we eat as a form of reward - the reward being taste, convenience, dopamine, easy, because we deserve to relax, and any other reward we get from eating things that don’t align. thinking of all the crappy feelings we get from eating something off plan is not that great of a deterrent for choosing it. We value a reward much more than a deterrent so instead of thinking of the negatives of a negative choice, think of the positives of a positive choice. How will you FEEL after making healthy choices on your travels? Close your eyes and imagine it. Imagine the trip. Play it out in your mind. Take this moment and actually do the exercise. Write down how you will feel. Some rewards you might wan to try to imagine feeling: Proud of yourself, satisfaction, confidence, empowered, fulfilled, content, self-assuredness, gratitude towards yourself, accomplishment, peacefulness, strength, clarity, optimism, a relaxed sense of alignment, resilience, overall well-being, vitality, self-love and respect, renewal, balance, joy, excitement, harmony, lightness, energetic, aliveness, refreshed and hydrated, invigorated, focused, triumphant and on track. These are all possible rewards we might feel about ourselves and when we feel them before making a choice, we are more drawn to experiencing them. Add more of your own if you feel other things too.
