Hey! I’m Raquel Langworthy, an Interiors Photographer based in NJ. If you’re new here, or just want to know some random things about me, here goes!
I am a lot more colorful and silly of a person than I feel comfortable sharing on Instagram.
I’ve loved photography since I was 12. My first camera was a plastic purple and black film camera and I was hooked instantly!
Music has a very powerful effect on me. I have synesthesia which means I feel and visualize sound.
There was a time when I stoped listening to it alone, but now I use it like therapy or inspiration. Different genres have different effects!
As a person who drives a lot, I love podcasts and listening to self enriching books. I’m always arriving to a photo shoot spouting something I learned!
I grew up a crazy animal lover, but have zero pets and don’t mind.
I’m from Michigan and still think of it as home. Go blue!
I love gardening outdoors. I find personal creative projects tough to commit time to as a parent, but gardening seems to be a good mix of “work” and creativity that I make time for.
I am one of three girls, and have three daughters.
I adore my husband. I adore my career. I’m loyal to a fault!
Do we have anything in common?! I’d love to know in the comments 🤎

This week has been full of ups and downs, but it didn’t really seem to alter this excitement that lives inside of me. Do you ever feel like huge things are set in motion? I feel like there is the person and the photographer I was before I went to the Shifter photography conference, and now there is the person after.
It’s been ages since I felt this electric! But today, back to dance mom… #homewithrue

The moment - sometimes you walk into a space and you can just feel all the love and thoughtfulness that was put into its creation. The most beautiful projects are not always the biggest. They’re often the ones that you can feel the love that went into selecting everything. From the curve of a counter edge to a brass rod on millwork. The warmth just fills you up! The moment Danielle sent me references of this space, I knew it would be a good one. The styling consult to prepare for the photo shoot was a breeze, and there was a sense of happiness and anticipation. The capture day was no different! The moment - sometimes it makes the photo so perfect.

Congrats to @jennifermuirheadinteriors on this recent feature of “Luxe bedroom ideas of small bedrooms” in @real_homes 🤎 Jennifer is quoted to say she loves using climbing wallpaper in small bedrooms as it gives the illusion of greater ceiling height. Congrats on this beautiful space and feature Jennifer! Link to the full article in stories for more Luxe small bedroom ideas.
Special thanks to @eve.smallman for this feature!

Flying out to Nashville this morning for the @shiftereducation photography conference! I’m excited to learn more lighting techniques and meet some of my favorite photographers from IG. It’s been a slow role for me to have any community within my own career tract, and I’m so excited to finally meet these people IRL! If you’re going, DM me!

Heading to the city today for a full day with my girls and their Girl Scout troop. We’re attending an actor’s workshop, having lunch and then watching Wicked! Sometimes I miss their little baby bodies, but this phase is a lot of fun too.

I’ve been reading/listening to a book recommended to be my Jennifer Muirhead called “Joyful” by Ingrid Fetell Lee. She shared the Ted talk with me first. The writer is an interior designer and the whole book is about how color brings to us a sense of well being as human beings.
It’s a great read and I find myself looking for ways to add color to my life and my children’s lives - from buying Nova a head to toe turquoise outfit, to planning new paint colors for our dining room. Now I know why I continue love my green kitchen so much!
