We're squeezing five days into four for the next fortnight but it's all worth it for the joy that the four-day weekend promises. Read on for the latest #ABitOfRandR for some Easter food and wine fun... Isobel Dickinson is swapping the bunny and ears for wine this Easter in the Daily Star Sunday - grabbing Louis Jadot Bourgogne Gamay to pair with lamb and popping open Cune Barrel Fermented Blanc for a feast with a cheesy tart; Matt Nixson is climbing to high altitude vineyards in the Saturday Express, exploring the trend that's set to continue and sipping Zuccardi Valles Torrontes sourced from vineyards touching 6000 feet in the foothills of the Andes. Matt is also matching great value with great taste from Portugal when recommending Esporao Monte Velho Red Alentejo; Will Lyons is forward planning how to play host over the bank holiday in The Sunday Times. He is partying with Contino 934 Reserva Rioja - a release to celebrate The Wine Society's 150th anniversary - just one of Will's "little miracle" bottles for the Easter table. 🐣🐣🐣 Whether you're home or away this bank holiday, all at R&R wish you a Happy Easter 🐣🐣🐣

Journey’s End has wrapped up its 2024 harvest, the briefest for many years, starting and finishing earlier than any since 2016. Winemaker Mike Dawson says, “Quality has exceeded expectations and the health of the vineyards and the optimal fermentation kinetics have truly shone through, boasting pristine aromas and distinctive flavour profiles.” We can’t wait to try these South African wines when they reach UK shores...

Born in Ireland, Raised in Jerez. Nomad Single Malt Outland Whisky has launched in the UK! This whisky spent three years in Bourbon casks at the Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk, Southern Ireland, before travelling to Jerez de la Frontera where it aged for a year in the Gonzalez Byass cellars in Oloroso Alfonso casks. The sherry casks allow the whisky to develop a range of complex flavours and rich notes of dried fruit, hazelnut, and spice. Can't wait to get our hands on this very soon...

Let's raise a glass to Simpsons’ who have been showcasing their wines across Europe with the Wines of Great Britain over the last few weeks! Hot on the heels of a trip to Scandinavia where they were pouring wines in Copenhagen and Stockholm, the team hopped over to Germany to join eleven other English wine brands on the #WineGB stand at Prowein in Düsseldorf. So exciting to see brilliant UK wineries flying the flag for English wine in Europe. 📸 credit (with thanks): @ukinsweden

Rozza went to Tenerife for a mini break so we expected a photo of her in the sunshine – but no, she sent us a picture of a jellyfish aquarium with the fish in a matching green to her outfit. Always a bit different our Rozza...

Happy Monday, Peeps – the latest #ABitOfRandR is up… Helen McGinn is once more winning over foodie viewers of BBC Saturday Kitchen, pairing Errazuriz Estate Reserva Pinot Noir with Gennaro Contaldo’s Polenta Lasagne. The Italian title of this dish is ‘pasticcio’ - meaning a ‘mess' - because it looks so messy on the plate. Although we think the wine match is pretty neat 😋; David Williams is getting in on the vermouth act and branching out to try the super-tangy Denbies Orange Vermouth in The Observer, which he explains is made from the Surrey winery’s pressings from their orange wine, Solaris 2022; Also celebrating World Vermouth Day on 21st March is Charlotte Kristensen who is cracking open the olives and pouring Gonzalez Byass Vermouth La Copa over ice in The Mail on Sunday’s You Magazine. We’ll happily join this renaissance..! 🥂 Have a wonderful week, one and all 🥂

Rozza was chuffed to spot these familiar bubbles and sleek branded wine bucket in Decanter’s tasting room recently... We agree with Taittinger - there is no specific drinking occasion for Brut Réserve as it can be the Champagne for any moment. Including as an elegant bottle of fizz for stocking up ahead of the long Easter bank holiday weekend..! Happy Friday to all - are your weekend plans sparkling..?

Introducing… SPARKLING NECTAR! This sparkling Nectar from Gosnells is alcoholic, gluten-free and comes in lots of different flavours. Made from amazing high-quality honey instead of mass-produced fruit, you might be thinking this is the exact same drink as mead... But Gosnells' Nectar is not incredibly strong or overly sweet or from the ‘dark ages’. Something different and delicious deserves a different name. Enjoy Gosnells Nectar at their tap room in Bermondsey..!

“I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. But a pig will look a man right in the eye and see his equal”- Winston Churchill R&R's Rup is not quite sure but he feels that Daphne, Dora and Delores are rather more in the Cat Camp...

This latest #ABitOfRandR gives your week a steer on where to get your drink on... Jane MacQuitty is recommending some of the best Kiwi wines that aren't Sauvignon Blanc in the Times on Saturday, applauding Esk Valley’s creamy textured Seabed Chardonnay 2021 as New Zealand’s answer to Chablis; Celebrating International Women's Day and Mother's Day, Charlotte Kristensen is toasting fabulous females in the wine world. Debbie Lauritz leads the winemaking team at Robert Oatley, making the supple and juicy Semaphore McLaren Vale Shiraz 2021, bursting with berry fruit; And our very own Rupert Ponsonby is telling us all we need to know about sherry barrels in The Buyer. He mentions the smooth Nomad Outland whisky from Gonzalez Byass, produced in Scotland and aged in Bodega sherry casks in Jerez, soaking up all the complex sherry flavours.
