Don't tell anyone, but I've not actually done any stitching in a really long time. Months actually!
I have been making though, as I said in my previous post, I created a whole human baby 5 weeks ago.🖤
So i've spent the summer trapped under a beautiful tiny person, whilst simultaneously and almost impossibly trying to occupy another, slightly larger, small person. So far, slightly larger small person is dealing with the new tiny person remarkably well. 🤞
Night feeds are a useful time for planning new work, planning lots of things, whilst being unable to actually begin any of it.
It's a time where everything happens very slowly but time passes very quickly.
The time for new projects will come. Every time has it's moment but for now this job with the small people is the important one to me. I am so thankful and grateful for them and there's nothing else I'd rather be doing right now.
So new work and new projects will come some day. And when they do, it could be a bit different from the usual.

This piece was inspired by cloud watching. Day dreaming, observing surroundings, slowing down.
This week has felt a lot like that for me. I had a baby last week (!). I have been living in a beautifully happy bubble ever since where time is meaningless and appreciating small things in the moment is key. I hope I get to stay here for a while. 🤍
As I have a this thing for threads, I was easily lured to join the new platform Threads.
So far, I like it! It's friendly and relaxed, no adverts, no hastags, no spam (yet) and no need for a curated grid like insta.
I'm up for the occassional chat with like minded creatives, so i'm interested to see how things pan out over there.
It currently feels like finding the good table free in the pub before it gets too busy.
But dont worry, Insta is still my fave. I'll always be a visual person so I want to see your art and share mine first and foremost.
What are your thoughts on Threads? Up for it or not fussed?

What a pleasure it has been to be part of the Finding Space exhibition curated by artist Mary Modha and showing at OPEN Ealing Arts centre.
It's been lovely to meet some of the other artists exhibiting and it was great to and hear the artists talk/conversation by Sarah Gillham and Mary Modha at the Private view.
Finding Space is a collection of artwork by women and nonbinary artists curated by @marymodhaart that draws out their experiences navigating public, private, intimate and imaginary spaces.
My piece 'The Beast' is a 10" hand-stitched embroidery on voile and was made during the Covid pandemic lockdown. It was created intuitively and reflects the inner turmoil felt during difficult circumstances and the coping mechanisms parents find to protect their loved ones.
I'll share and link some artworks by other artists in my stories and save in my highlights. I only wish I'd taken more photos.
It's been a facinating show and I've really enjoyed sharing a space with so much talent. Thank you and well done to all involved. 🖤
