Like this video if you love "Riding the Bull“!🤠 Not an actual bull, but this is a whole lot better. The term for sitting on the very front edge of the raft like a bada$$ as you shred through gnarly rapids. Here are some more insider terms you can drop on your next rafting trip to really get your guide’s or friends' attention! Chunderdome (n) Definition: The area in a rapid featuring the most turbulent or consequential whitewater. Ex: "Man, I got off my line and ended up straight in the chunderdome. What a ride!" Rotisserie (v) Definition: The act of spinning your raft before pinning your boat between two rocks, 180 degrees to the direction of the current, and subsequently flipping over. Theater Seats (n) Definition: The eddy at the bottom of a challenging rapid used to watch incoming rafts make their attempt to run the rapid. Pinball Wizard (n) Definition: The person in the boat who falls out and bounces off every rock from the top to the bottom of the rapid. Rose'd (v) Definition: Being Rose'd is the act of getting a swimmer to the safety of the raft but failing to pull them in. Coming from the movie Titanic, where Rose held onto Jack from the safety of the floating door, leaving Jack submerged in the freezing waters. Rising from the Grave (v) Definition: The act of nearly falling out of the raft but holding on by one foot securely locked in. This act generally involves the submergence of the head and most of the upper body. Find more professional sounding rafting terms on raftmasters.com/26-whitewater-rafting-terms-and-sayings-few-will-know or check out our recent blog post on Outdoor Terminology for Beginners on our website (link in bio). 📸: demiharris @draephotography 📍: Payette River, Banks to Beehive Bend Special thanks to @tdanylchuk for his mad ridin' skills

Make sure your camera is in Manual focus, and use a headlamp to make sure your focus is set to infinite. 3. Set a 2-second timer on your camera 4. Keep your shutter speed around 20 seconds 5. Shoot between 800-3200 ISO 6. Set Aperture to f4 7. See what image you captured after the photo is taken! 8. Add any post-processing edits! 📸: @mizacash 📍: Little Redfish Lake

Today we're feeling extra thankful for all of the rain our state received over the weekend and these cooler temperatures are welcomed by the OIM team! Last week drought emergencies were declared throughout the western United States and a recent map published by the U.S. Drought Monitor shows that 90% of the west is in a drought, which meteorologists expect to last through the summer. Record-high temperatures and extreme wildfires have exacerbated drought conditions in Idaho, so this weekend's rain storms brought much-needed relief to our dry climate. Idaho BLM said, "the rain absorbed by plants in the Southern region of Idaho will temporarily help lower wildfire danger, however with low fuel moistures, dry and warm conditions can be expected to return. That means we need to stay alert and practice wildfire safety techniques like always putting out campfires, obeying fire restrictions where posted and limiting driving off-road." The weekend storms affected central and southeastern Idaho with mudslides and damaging tree foliage, but the effects it had on slowing wildfires, even temporarily, makes us grateful for the sprinkle. 📸: Ashley Stoneham, @idahodepartmentoflands courtesy of @blmfire
