Immediately following the National Book Awards in New York, 33 of the 2023 #NBAwards Longlisters, Finalists, and Winners were at the Miami Book Fair. Across 6 events—including Teen Press Conference—Miami with Miami-Dade-area students, genre breakout panels, and our annual grand slam event featuring rapid-fire readings and questions—we celebrated this year’s incredible cohort of authors, translators, and their honored works.

Last night, the Finalists for the 2023 National Book Awards for Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, Translated Literature, and Young People’s Literature read excerpts from their honored works at the 2023 National Book Awards Finalist Reading, hosted by Parul Sehgal, staff writer at The New Yorker. The event was presented in partnership with the NYU Creative Writing Program (@nyucreativewriting ) at @nyuskirball .
Earlier in the evening, the Finalists were presented with their Finalist medals and judges’ citations at the private Medal Ceremony.
