Around 1 in 5 pregnancies end in miscarriage, and the impact can be devastating. Some people who lose a baby can develop depression, anxiety or PTSD. The symptoms of PTSD include: 🔹️ Vivid flashbacks 🔹️ Feeling alert or on edge 🔹️ Avoiding feelings or memories that remind you of the trauma 🔹️ Physical sensations such as pain, sweating, nausea or trembling If you know someone who's had a miscarriage, listen and be there for them. Try not to judge and remember, there is no ‘at least’. If they have PTSD, learn their triggers so you can help to avoid them. Our friends @tommys are researching the link between miscarriage and mental health. Read more about it in the link in our bio. And if you need support during or after pregnancy or loss, you can speak to their dedicated midwives.

“It was a dream come true to unveil this sculpture at the National Portrait Gallery to mark With Women in Mind’s launch, and I’ll be auctioning it off tonight to raise funds and awareness for With Women in Mind.”   Sophie Tea is one of the founding members of Mind’s With Women in Mind collective, which supports young people affected by trauma. The auction goes live in London tonight at 6pm @tateward_auctions   If you’re struggling with your mental health or have been affected by trauma, check out Mind’s website or call Mind’s infoline.

It's #InternationalDayofHappiness AND the first day of Spring 🌻 Some things that make us happy about Spring: Daffodils. The birds waking up. Not getting soaked on dog walks. Lighter evenings. Not having to crack out the hot water bottle every night. Now tell us yours. What makes you happy about Spring?

“It’s okay to not be okay.” Heard that one before? Problem is, when you’re struggling, it doesn’t always feel like it’s okay to not be okay. In a recent poll we found that 51% of people in the UK still believe there’s a great deal/fair amount of shame associated with mental health conditions. And feeling shame stops people getting the help and support they need. As part of the anti-stigma alliance, we want to change this. People from all over the UK have written about when they feel it hasn’t been 'okay to not be okay'. Hit the link in our bio to find out more about the campaign and download your own social media posts (remember to tag us if you do post!). #IfItsOkay [Alt text: In the centre of the graphic, there is a big bold statement that says 'It's okay to not be okay'. But there is yellow text around it that looks handwritten. With the yellow text added on, it reads 'If it's okay to not be okay, why do I worry that my anxiety will prevent me from getting a job I love?' Underneath, the quote is attributed to Hannah, Thanet. The anti-stigma alliance charities' logos are underneath - Mind, See Me, Inspire and Time to Change Wales.]
