God commands us to not worry, so when worry comes, ask the Holy Spirit to show you 𝑮𝒐𝒅’𝒔 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆. The Holy Spirit will also remind and lead you to specific verses to help you see God rightly so that you don’t worry. Let your weaknesses draw you to 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀. His power is made perfect in our weaknesses (2 Cor. 12:9). There is only one who can meet our every need and deliver us from sin and that is Jesus. Psalm 138:8 says, “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.” God will perfect every area of your life that concerns you by His mercy. We have no reason to doubt that God loves us and that we have all we need in Him because God has already given us the greatest gift He could ever give — 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝑺𝒐𝒏 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔. Romans 8:31-32 says, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?“ Imagine someone willing to give you their only child to die in place of your wrong doing. There’s no greater love than sacrificing what you love most and that is what God did for us. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Though we were sinners, God sent Jesus to die for us that we may be saved if we believe in Jesus. Because God has already proven His love to us, let us not doubt His love but instead 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲. Negative thoughts will come, but we must have a habit of 𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒏𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔. Will you create a habit of looking to Jesus and thinking pure and praiseworthy thoughts? We will find our mind filled with God’s peace as we look to Jesus and meditate on truths in the Bible. I was feeling stress and questioning whether I could do everything that was at hand. I entertained negative and defeating thoughts which only led me to feeling stressed and afraid. God reminded me of Philippians 4:8-9 which says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.  Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” As we practice looking to Jesus and His Word, we are practicing what Philippians 4:8 says because Jesus contains everything that is pure, true, right, and praiseworthy. Instead of looking to your circumstances, 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀. We serve a supernatural God who is above our weaknesses and the natural. Before we say we can’t, let us look to Jesus and 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 — not our own ability. God says in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” God’s grace is enough to empower us to do what we cannot do and to produce what we cannot produce. We must create a habit of 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 to produce a life of faith. Jesus 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 that we need — He provides us safety, love, provision, satisfaction, and strength like no other. God says in Ezekiel 34:11, “I myself will be their Shepherd. I will search for my sheep and take care of them.“ ‭‭ A good shepherd takes care of their sheep and that is what Jesus is to us who believe in Him and walk in His ways. As the flock of Jesus, we have no lack to worry about in this earth and for eternity. We can confidently say, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). God’s tangible care for us is found as we 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝒊𝒎. The Holy Spirit will lead us to find Jesus in every area we are lacking in. If we need love, He will reveal God’s love for us. If we need strength, He will give us strength as we wait on Him. If we need provision, He will open the doors for provision to come as we align to His will. When we lose sight of Jesus and His holiness, we will go astray and not follow His commands. Let us make our vision to 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕, 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒍, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅. A life outside of God’s Word is a life that will perish. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” May we live abiding in God’s love by obeying His commands. Jesus says in John 15:10, “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” There’s no better place than abiding in God’s love. It is in Jesus that we will find a blessed life here on earth and for eternity. The ability to love Jesus with all our heart, soul, and mind is a sign we are completely free by the 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀. When we are bound by sin such as pain, fear, or lust, we do not have the ability to love Jesus, but His love 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒔 𝒖𝒔 so that we can love Him back. 1 John 4:18-19 says, “But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.” God’s love has the ability to perfect us. We can love God because He first loved us by giving Jesus, His only begotten Son to die for us that we may have eternal life if we believe in Jesus. Let us always look to the cross and remember how greatly loved we are by God. I used to think I could love Jesus but disregard His feelings and commands in the Bible. I ended up being stuck in a deep pit of shame, emptiness, and depression as I lived how I wanted to live. It was at this point when I realized I needed help and made the decision to make Jesus Lord over my life and truly seek His way and will. I learned that Jesus makes it clear that if we truly love Him, we will obey His commands. Jesus says in John 14:15, “If you love me, obey my commands.” Our willingness to 𝗼𝗯𝗲𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗶𝗺 is the evidence that we love God. Only 𝒊𝒏 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 can we find an abundant life and eternal life. The first thing we have to ask ourselves before doing anything is: Am I loving Jesus with all my heart, soul, and mind in what I am about to do? Jesus’s 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 and 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 commandment to us is to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37-38). This is not only the greatest commandment, but also the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 for us to do. Let’s be quick to allow the Holy Spirit to examine our hearts and motives that we may walk in a blameless way that pleases God.
