The exploration of movement is deep and meaningful. It informs your nervous system where you are and it improves your ability to coordinate and move your body. It can be a safe space to discover the endless possibilities available or a way to find the present limits. Allow your body to be heard. It is speaking to you when you move it. #play #explore #mobility #afferentfeedback #movement

These are some bad ass straight leg hip flexion hovers. Don’t be deceived by the fact that pro dancer @emiliafridholm makes this exercise look easy. Doing this requires both flexibility and a lot of strength (mobility). If you want to move better and learn how to work on your mobility the ”Functional Mobility” group class has it all. (Link in Bio). Start your journey of learning, building and maintaining a healthy and mobile body. See you in class! #mobility #hover #dancer #strength #health #rangeofmotion #groupclass

Fast and slow movements are different, both in terms of what type of muscle fibers dominantly are being used and what kind of neurological mechanisms is needed. This is a speed drill in a position commonly used in ballet. We are loading the joint from two sides in an unpredictable way forcing pro dancer @jeremiiiie to react quickly, stimulating his nervous system and fast twitch muscle fibers. This will make him better at reacting and controlling the hip joint when doing fast movements with the leg to the side. The drill is done with closed eyes to reduce muscle pre activation. #mobility #strength #speed #frc #endrangestrength #dancer #nervoussystem #fasttwitch

A constraint isn’t always a bad thing. We can use the intentional limitation to funnel movement to the area we are working on. In this clip we utilized a mobility stick to limit the spines ability to flex which would have facilitated the athletes ability to keep the leg off the ground. Our goal was to improve the hips ability to control external rotation in a 90/90 position thus the importance of reducing compensations in the spine. Just humbling to see how pro ice skater @sophieblomqwist is taking on the task. #mobility #hip #spine #compensations #constraints #iceskater #strength #frc

Got to hang out with our friends at Nike this morning. Appreciate the opportunity with an incredible brand! Got to see a solid group train hard and demonstrate the “Just Do It” mentality. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That’s Mamba. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Had to put “Sirius” for this reel. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #nike #corporatewellness #employeewellness #strengthtraining #blazepod #exergenie #mambamentality

Addressing and improving connective tissue quality in the knees. We primed the knees with articular rotations and rotational isometrics before eccentrically moving the knees into flexion. #frsism #kneeflexion #dancer #connectivetissue #rangofmotion #strength
