I still need to paint those pine skirting boards and style the windows, but I couldn’t resist snapping a corner of the new office.
While we wait for bigger jobs like flooring, cabinetry and our kitchen revamp, I wanted to do a mini makeover of this room. It was originally a magnolia shade, so I wanted something with a little more depth - and more in keeping with our style.
I colour drenched the room in this muddy clay shade to see if we’re brave enough to go darker with our office when the time comes (we are!) This room gets loads of light, but it already feels more snug.
Floating shelves are up, standing desk is in and sofa bed is on the way. Just need to find the perfect rug to mask the current flooring for now…

While we patiently do up the house room by room, there are some spaces I’m learning to appreciate exactly as they are. The sun room come play room gets the most incredible light every afternoon, I can’t wait to see lighter flooring and a fresh lick of paint in here. It’s such a joy to sit in my powder pink swivel chair and watch River.
From his first time climbing the frame to magic Montessori mornings, we’ve already made so many memories in here ☁️
R E F L E C T I O N S
Just popping on to share a small detail that has really elevated the upstairs. We decided to change all of the switches and sockets from white to brass; a simple change that can really put the finishing touch to a space.
Tis’ the season to be grateful, and our girls give us the gift of breakfast each morning 🐓🌈🥚 We’re still waiting patiently for a beautiful duck egg to add to the mix. Thankfully Yuki and Oreo have settled in nicely and are living their best life at the cottage 🦆🦆
I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this view (so I hope you don’t either). Cracking open a skylight in the guest room to see so much nature is always a treat.
Our land ends right as the forest begins which makes it feel like an infinite oasis…I love how the trees almost hug the mountains behind.

A little porch refresh 🍁
There’s something about adding a seasonal wreath that screams ‘I’m so ready for the Christmas countdown’. This burgundy and dusky pink beauty by @newmoonblooms.ie is the ideal addition to our pear green half door.
I’ve added some new hardy heathers and swishy grass pots to give some movement throughout the colder months. I love how the shadows dance on the door...the girls were paid extras 🐓

While I meticulously plan the bigger, more transformative house projects *for when we win the lotto…I’m also appreciating the cosy corners and pieces that are starting to bring our home and taste together.
I love the grain and curved lines in this side table, paired perfectly with my favourite textured lamp. You can never have too many lamps this time of year can you?
Slow Saturday 🍂
We’ve had a busy week with very little sleep (thanks to a certain toddler waking before 5am ready for the day).
I spent the morning giving the house a big clean, plumping cushions, burning candles and listening to some Sade. Adam has started to swap out the sockets and switches from white to a gorgeous antique brass finish. It’s crazy how such a small change can make such a big difference. It has unfortunately chipped away some new paint work in the process though, which means an extra job has been added to the ever growing list.
I managed to squeeze in a little time in the potting shed and styling the front porch to match our new seasonal wreath. I’m hoping for some sunshine to take a few pics for you, but until then wishing you a lovely weekend whatever you’re up to 🖤
