BC’s mountains are beautiful, but they can also be dangerous. Swipe to see some top tips to stay safe from avalanches when you’re enjoying the mountains. For any winter activity, taking an Avalanche Canada Training course is the best way to stay safe. You and everyone in your group must also be self-sufficient—carrying all the proper gear (transceiver, shovel, and probe). @bcadvsmart and @avalanchecanada are great resources to help you get informed before heading outdoors; and always remember the three Ts—trip planning, training, and taking the essentials. Free online training is available: www.avysavvy.ca, and courses for all levels and disciplines: www.avalanche.ca/training
