“Tangled”
As a creative and also growing up with a Dad who can McGuyver just about anything… I consider myself, very much, a problem/solution kinda person. I love learning new things and new skills and just figuring life stuff out. And more often than not, I learn best from doing all the things wrong… a lot of times, over and over and over again, until the universe finally screams at me because… I’m also relentlessly stubborn and refuse to let things beat me.
One of my recent realizations is that sometimes, in the midst of well-intentioned and tenacious longing to become whole again after something turns your world upside down… you just end up getting all twisted and tangled in your mind. Sometimes, relentlessly trying to find a solution ends up being counter-productive. You end up resisting and blocking yourself from the healing by trying so hard to will your way out of it.
I’m clunkily trying to embrace the kinder and more effective thing to do instead… to simply surrender to where you are, to show yourself grace and kindness, and to have faith and conviction that this too shall pass. Just maybe not ALL today. Sometimes this truth alone, allows just enough light in to give those tangled, twisty knots permission to loosen, just a bit. 🤍
I made this awhile back and had totally forgotten about it until I was going through and choosing pieces for an event I had yesterday. Might be a sign that I need to stop procrastinating on getting my website up and running… 😬🫣😬

Late post… The kids @tres_amigos_fluid_art_magnets and I had a BLAST at @belgianhorsewinery ‘s Up in the Clouds Art Fest last Saturday! It was a perfect day and we’re so grateful to everyone who came by to support our small businesses! Extra HUGE shout out to my parents, who helped load, set-up, tear down, unload, and everything in between!!
If you missed us last weekend, we’ll be back at Belgian Horse Winery on Sept 23rd from 1-8… with TWO killer live bands, hot air balloon rides, wine slushies, food trucks, and pets who are hoping to find their forever homes! Mark it on your calendar… it’s going to be a blast!
A few weeks ago, I got to watch my best friend marry the love of her life, the person who makes her the happiest I’ve ever seen her. 🤍 I knew I wanted to make something, and I was super stoked to find these shells in Ft. Lauderdale during her Bachelorette weekend, which gave me the inspiration for this piece.💗

Who says friendship bracelets are no longer cool? They may be way different than the ones I made when I was nine, but I’m still a fan! These went to the most fabulous group of women who mean everything to my best friend, who lives another state away (soon to be, many states away 😩). 💗
