✨ 2024 OLYMPIC TRIALS QUALIFIER ✨ Zach Herriott ⏱️ Qualifying time: 2:15:42 📍 2022 California International Marathon Zach was a Missouri State Champion and All-American in high school before committing to the University of Oklahoma. After one year at OU, Zach transferred to the University of Virginia where he went on to become a team captain, All-American, and school record holder in the Indoor 5000 and Outdoor 10,000. He quit running competitively after college in 2017. In 2020, after knee surgery and taking a few years off, he decided to get back in shape and take on the marathon. Getting back into competitive running shape again and hitting the Olympic trials standard while balancing the demands of life and career was one of the most rewarding challenges of his life. Zach currently works for a software startup and enjoys concerts in his free time. He is a @twistedtea connoisseur and cat dad to Lucy. Fun fact: The one time I raced Galen Rupp, he DNF’d, so I am undefeated against Galen Rupp #olympictrialsqualifer #otq #marathon #olympics #rundc

✨ 2024 OLYMPIC TRIALS QUALIFIER ✨ Sam Doud ⏱️ Qualifying time: 2:15:52 📍 2022 California International Marathon The self-proclaimed Harbinger of Hains (Point, DC), “Mileage” Sam lives off the tears of his outsoles as he grinds them into the ground (and a healthy bowl or two of oats). By day he taps away at his keyboard as a software developer at SixNines IT and dreams of Capital Crescent Trail. Taking a circuitous path through collegiate running, Sam found himself 20 miles into a marathon and realized that was his calling Fun fact: I spent/wasted a year learning how to use a mouse left handed #olympictrialsqualifer #otq #marathon #olympics #rundc

✨ 2024 OLYMPIC TRIALS QUALIFIER ✨ John McGowan ⏱️ Qualifying time: 2:17:32 📍 2023 California International Marathon A Washington, D.C. native, John started running track in 7th grade. After he finished his first mile time trial, his coach was convinced he had skipped a lap. He hadn’t. Following his freshman year of high school, John parted ways with the soccer team and took up cross country. By his senior year, he became the first D.C. resident to qualify for the Footlocker National Cross Country Championships. He was also named All-Met Athlete of the Year by the Washington Post and twice earned Gatorade’s Runner of the Year award for D.C. At the collegiate level, John captained Yale’s cross country team and was a member of its school-record-setting 4xMile relay squad. Off the roads and the track, John recently completed a judicial clerkship and works as a lawyer in D.C. Fun fact: I briefly held the unofficial world record for the fastest jump-rope mile; hope to reclaim it one day. Also aspire to go for regular runs with my dog, Maisy, but for now all the sniffs are just too good #olympictrialsqualifer #otq #marathon #olympics #rundc

✨ 2024 OLYMPIC TRIALS QUALIFIER ✨ Tom Slattery ⏱️ Qualifying time: 2:15:34 📍 2022 California International Marathon Tom started running with Chaminade HS in (Mineola, NY) and his team were the 2014 4×800 indoor national champions and DMR All American. He then ran at Fordham University, where he claimed the 2018 5000m IC4A title in 14:00. Post college, he joined the New York Athletic Club and competed at the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials after qualifying at the 2020 Houston Marathon with a 2:18:32 (15th place). Tom is an Officer in the United States Coast Guard. Fun fact: I’m a huge donut snob, Dunkin’ doesn’t do it for me #olympictrialsqualifer #otq #marathon #olympics #rundc

✨ 2024 OLYMPIC TRIALS QUALIFIER ✨ Zack Holden ⏱️ Qualifying time: 2:16:54 📍 2023 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon While getting cut from the JV baseball team may have dashed Zack’s childhood dreams of becoming a major-league outfielder, it certainly had a silver lining in jump-starting his competitive running career. In his junior year, Zack helped lead his high school cross-country team to win their first state championship. He then continued on to the University of Virginia where he competed as a “D4” athlete for the club team, notably claiming multiple top-three regional finishes and one top-ten national finish as an individual. Around this time, Zack started running marathons. By day, Zack works as a digital signal processing engineer developing radar systems. In his spare time, he writes about all of the best bands you’ve probably never heard of for the indie music publication Boxcar Collective. Fun fact: I get free concert tickets for life from my favorite band #olympictrialsqualifer #otq #marathon #olympics #rundc

✨ 2024 OLYMPIC TRIALS QUALIFIER ✨ Clint McKelvey ⏱️ Qualifying time: 2:16:35 📍 2023 Eugene Marathon Clint is originally from Maryville, TN and started running track in middle school as an attempt to make friends after moving to a new school. He had a successful high school career where he ran under 9 minutes for 2 miles, was a Tennessee state champion, and qualified for Footlocker Cross Country Nationals. Clint then joined the track and xc teams at Duke and spent more time in the training room than on the track over his four years in college. Leaving college with unfinished business, Clint has continued to compete since then and has set PRs at distances from 5K to the marathon. Clint lives in Arlington and works in data science at Meta. Fun fact - I’m a self proclaimed basketball jersey connoisseur and have at least one for every NBA team #olympictrialsqualifer #otq #marathon #olympics #rundc
