This is one of my favorite segments from PUKE. It lines up with the films moral compass, aka this Vin diesel DIAGRAM, and gets at the essence of why I was drawn to make doc about @alfasenturion . I decided to put the whole film up on the YouTubes in 4K. Lil tire kick of my 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser fzj80. The fine peeps at @fitgarage pimped it for me with some parts from @scheelmannusa @alucab @emu.wing and @4x4labs . I’ve been sleeping in it a few nights a week for the last two months and am having more fun than a pig in shit getting back into camping and exploring all the public land we have in the west. I’ve had a handful of 4x4 camper sets ups, from my 87 VW vanagon Syncro to my ‘13 Tacoma with a flatbed and four wheel camper, and I can say that this thing is more comfortable and reliable than either of those and costs a fraction of what a new set up that’s as capable would cost.

I shot this sequence a few months into filming for puke in the spring of 2018. Jake was replacing the engine on his 87 Toyota before heading out on the road on a two week pelleting trip. Of all the critiques and compentaries on technology that I've heard, Jakes ramblings here resonated with me. It's one of the only sequences of the film that I didn't re-edit when it came time to turn the hundreds of hours of footage I had into a complete film.
