On this International Women’s Day, I’m sending a shoutout to my three-year-old girls, that will be navigating a world that still has so much catching up to do on the equality front.
My little forces are already impressing me with their independence and growing up to be strong, fierce and pushing boundaries, daily. (Sometimes when I need them to calm down 😂)
Here’s to teaching them that being strong, independent girls is not just an option—it’s a superpower they possess from the start. I know their journey will be filled with opportunities to break through glass ceilings, leaving a trail for others to follow.
When blogging on International Women’s Day, I have to acknowledge the gross rules and regulations in many countries, including the U.S. Women’s rights are non-negotiable. I struggle with this. It makes me angry, I can’t begin to write my true thoughts.
And I can’t ignore this also, especially so close to Mother’s Day…I hardly blog but what’s happening in the world is not unnoticed. So, my heart goes out to all the mums (and parents) who’ve faced the unimaginable loss of their children due to conflicts and the actions of war. I can’t bring myself to even try and imagine the pain. This shouldn’t be happening.
We can’t keep ignoring this.
