London-based fashion designer Ozwald Boateng (
@ozwald_boateng ) will join the design judging panel at this year’s Dezeen Awards (
@dezeenawards_ ).
Now in its seventh year, the programme, in partnership with Bentley (
@bentleymotors ), has become the ultimate accolade for architects and designers everywhere, with winners selected by a panel of international judges.
With over 30 years of experience, Boateng is known for his contemporary silhouettes which utilise colour, deep textures and traditional British tailoring techniques. The British-Ghanaian designer has collaborated with international brands including private bank Coutts & Co, whisky brand Johnnie Walker and Virgin Airlines. He was also appointed as the creative director for fashion house Givenchy Homme in 2003.
Recent projects include a new uniform collection for British Airways and a capsule collection with Italian furniture brand Poltrona Frau, including a Chester Sofa, a 1930s vanity armchair and rugs.
