Arguably the best viewpoint of the Three Sisters of Glen Coe. The Ralston Cairn was erected as a memorial for a local man who loved hill walking in the area but sadly passed away at a young age. The Scottish highlands really are a photographers dream 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 It took me a long time to find this spot though 🤣 Happy Sunday! Hope you all had a great weekend 🤙🏻 #glencoe #thethreesisters #scotland #scotland _lover #scottishmountains #getoutdoors #ecosse #schottland #sonyalpha #scotlandscenery

Hello 👋 It has been a while since I’ve put a mugshot on my grid, with a face for radio it often feels for the best… But I’d love to know a bit about all of you who choose to follow and enjoy my photos from travels around Scotland. So whether you want to simply leave an emoji flag of where you’re from, tell me what kind of photos / videos you like seeing from me, tell me a little something about yourself and your interest in Scotland or photography in general I’d love to hear from you all. As for me, for those who haven’t followed me for long… I was born in Glasgow, which also explains why I am absolutely hilarious too. I now live in Aberdeen having moved here for work in 2008. I picked up a proper camera for the first time 2 and a half years ago and it was the best thing I have done. Getting a drone quickly after and finally exploring the country I call home properly and capturing many magical moments. I am often asked my favourite place and honestly it is Dunnottar Castle, it definitely inspired an artistic side with both painting then photography. I try and escape to the highlands as often as I can (outwith midge season as apparently I am a delicacy to them - pale white ginger meat must be delicious) Glencoe always makes for happy memories as my prized possession is a photo of my grandparents taken there many years ago (see my “about me” highlight) Very much looking forward to my next birthday in sept and my first visit to Lewis and Harris with a day trip to St Kilda planned for it too. Here is me and just a random selection of some of my favourite photos I’ve taken with camera and drone. If you like my work and would like to introduce me to others then I’d love it if you shared this to your story and saved the post as it goes a long way to helping us! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🫶🏻 Cover pic 📸 - @jllianelise #sonyalpha #scottishphotographer #scotlandpics

If only these walls could talk… I think these are the 5 best castle ruins in Scotland and the stories they must hold within… can you imagine? I’d really love to know which is your favourite location amongst these historic sites. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 1. Dunnottar Castle, Aberdeenshire 2. Kilchurn Castle, Argyll 3. New Slains, Aberdeenshire 4. Old Keiss, Wick 5. Caerlaverock, Dumfries & Galloway I’ve included some info for some spots nearby (some closer than others) to help plan a future visit! So be sure to save and follow @with.bryan for more of 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 #castlesofscotland #scottishhistory #scottishcastles #historylovers #visitscotland

Who loves a Scottish Castle? 🙋‍♂️ The rich history of Scotland certainly adds to the charm of the rugged landscapes and vibrant scenery they are often found. I think that’s why I love capturing castles in such scenic settings, it’s also quite enjoyable reading up about the locations and their storied life. Which is your favourite? What do you think is missing from the selection? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿📸🏰 1. Castle Tioram, Archacle 2. Castle Campbell, Dollar 3. Caerlaverock Castle, Dumfries 4. Dunnottar Castle, Aberdeenshire 5. The north coast 500 has so many viewpoints and beaches… This one in Durness offers beautiful views all around on Scotland’s northernmost coastline, the Scottish highlands are so dreamy aren’t they though? How do you keep your dreams alive on a Tuesday? … by hitting the snooze button! Scottish Highlands…. See you soon… 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙 Out of office on, bags finally packed and no doubt forgot something given leaving it to the last minute as always 🫠 Off to Dornie for the night before heading to the north west for the weekend and a scenic drive from Eilean Donan through Applecross and Torridon before arriving in Ullapool to see @we__roam for a day or two adventuring around the north west and Assynt and some of the NC500 beaches then over to Lewis and Harris for some more peaceful ones… Can anyone name this beach though? 🤔 And yes… much looking forward to not thinking about work. 👌🏻 Hope you’ve all had a great week x #nc500route #scotlandbeaches #travelscotland #visitscotland #assynt #scottishhighlands

Can you just about spot the other photographer getting a closer look at one of the coolest coastal rock formations in the north east of Scotland? My pal @christinejacksonphotography running around trying to get to spots before the rest of us for fear of being wound up about “copying” 🤣 This is Bow Fiddle Rock is a natural sea arch near Portknockie right on the border of Moray and Aberdeenshire. It is composed of Quartzite, a metamorphic rock originating from quartz sandstone. The north east is oft overlooked for visitors but with so many castles such as Dunnottar, New Slains and many national trust properties as well as the Cairngorms there is plenty to see and do. Nearby Cullen is well worth a visit too to see where Cullen Skink emanates from for any fish soup lovers… Findlater Castle is another hidden gem that doesn’t smell quite as strong. So if you’re planning on visiting the area or just generally planning to visit Scotland… it’s maybe worth saving this 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Travel | Coastline | Sony Alpha | Outdoors | Seaside #visitabdn #aberdeenshire #scotlandlovers #morayspeyside

“What a week” - me at 4.45pm on Tuesday. Might just go and find a remote bothy with a beautiful view for sunrises and not come back. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙 “The Lookout” at Rubha Hunish, on the Isle of Skye, possibly Scotland’s best bothy sitting atop the volcanic columns on the edge of this magical island with views of Lewis and Harris to the north west, where I’ll be a week today enjoying a far less stressful week taking all the photographs wandering all the beaches. 🫶🏻🌊🐚 (yes, that’s me wearing shorts and a beanie hat at the same time) As for this spot, if you’re on the island it’s about an hour long walk from the nearest parking and a striking view well worth a wee trek if you want to save this post for planning your Scotland trip 2024 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Highlands | Drone | Sunrise | Landscape | Travel #isleofskye #visitscotland #dronepic

A wee island with your own cottage sounds bliss doesn’t it? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 be sure to save this! 💙 This old abandoned lime kilns, Ard Neackie at Loch Eriboll is one of the many cool photography locations on the world famous roadtrip the NC500, (going east to west it’s between Tongue and Durness and a great spot to stretch the legs before getting to some beautiful beaches the further west you go!) The Loch itself played an important role in history with training ops carried out here for WWII as well as the surrender of German U-Boats. A week tomorrow morning and I’ll be back on the ferry to Isle of Lewis and Harris once more… I cannot wait to see these scenes again at a different time of year, the beaches, the historic sites and the rugged coastlines, such beautiful islands and what should be a nice relaxing adventure. Do you think they have the best beaches in Scotland? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Adventure | Drone | Travel | Landscape | Photography #lewisandharris #visitscotland #scotlandlovers

My last winter post of the year… I promise. Some photos from a couple of trips to Glen Coe and Glenfinnan earlier this year, the magical mountains, windings roads and famous landmarks.
