✨World Championships✨
Top 8 at worlds was my large goal heading into the season, see pic 2 for my reaction when I realized it was about to happen.
When we crashed in training in Altenberg 2 weeks before Worlds, I got banged up in my hip, glute, and hamstring, I couldn’t race that weekend.
During the 2 weeks of world champs, we worked tirelessly on trying to get my hamstring feeling better and each time we thought we got it figured out, something else would rear its head. Every time I tried to run I had red hot pain down my hamstring. Accelerate from a static position? Don’t think about it.
Race day came and it progressed to where I couldn’t do a stride without the pain, no matter how easy I tried to go. I didn’t panic,
@leti__anne and I had some tools in our belt, literally anything we could try to give some release to the pain, and I marched to the start line right from the table and rode straight adrenaline to the bottom. Four times.
This was NOT how I wanted what I had been working for for years to shake out. I don’t know how many tears I shed leading up to the race knowing I wasn’t going to be able to give
@thecynapps the best pushes I possibly could, but we managed to finish on our fastest push of the comp, a top 5 push. I wish I knew what we could have pushed had I been healthy, but such is life.
We have 1 more race in Lake Placid, NY next weekend to tie the season up 👊🏽👊🏽
Thank you to all those helping to make my dreams become regular Saturdays and Sundays.
