Humans often show up very differently in all the different contexts of their lives. ⠀ I believe this is healthy, to an extent. ⠀ You’re (hopefully) going to show up a bit differently with total strangers who have not earned your trust than you would with a trusted partner. ⠀ I also believe that to some extent, the more healing work you’ve done, the more consistently you show up across all relationships and scenarios. ⠀ Authenticity is not just about being honest about who you are, it’s also about the ability to stay grounded in your values and sense of self despite outside stressors. ⠀ Emotion regulation, mindful presence, and communicating with integrity are skills built intentionally through self-reflection, study, and hard work. ⠀ If you’ve been through a breakup and your ex is acting strange, unlike “themselves,” or even like a totally different person, this says a lot about their level of integration and how they show up when they feel secure vs insecure in relation to others. ⠀ Let go of the narrative of trying to figure out who they “really” are. Your experience of them in the past doesn’t need to change based on your current experience of them. ⠀ Both can be “true.” ⠀ Maybe a more important question is how do I respond to how someone is showing up in each moment rather than getting stuck in who they were before or the potential of who they could become in the future. ⠀ #breakupadvice #relationshipadvice #breakups #innerwork #healthyboundaries #conciousrelationships #toxicrelationships #selfawareness #selfunderstanding #selfobservation #healingjourney #healthycommunication #innerchildwork #healthyrelationships #vulnerability #intentionalliving #awakening #awakenedrelationship #selfhealers #traumarecovery #traumahealing #traumainformed #anxiety #codependency #codependentnomore #itsnotaboutyou #intentionalrelationships #honoryourtruth #mindfulness #liveintentionally
Showed up and slowly did not. Realizing it’s a reflection of them not me and it still sucks.
