Fear is a very bad thing. Fear of failure can be a huge detriment to growing your business. The other day someone in one of the reselling Facebook groups that I follow asked “A friend wants me to sell stuff for them on eBay, should I do it?” Almost every comment was something like, “Don’t do it”, “waste of time”, “no enough money in it”, “why would you list something without a guarantee of selling it?” , and other craziness. In general, Facebook groups are truly one of the worst ways of getting accurate reselling information. Consignment can be a great opportunity. If someone asks me to sell for them, I certainly go over to see what they have. One of my favorite consignment jobs was when this couple was moving. Their realtor recommended me and apparently the wife had a ton of clothing that she wanted to sell. The clothing was so/so but they were world travelers and had a bunch of knick knacks that they were just going to donate to Goodwill. I ended up selling their trinkets for more than the clothing. One of my best sales was a piece of Jade that they had picked up in China. It sold for over $500! They also referred me to other clients. It was a win/win. Opportunity comes along when we are open to it. Being closed minded about business opportunities limits your growth. So when it comes knocking at your door, answer it. You don’t have to let it in, but at the very least, see what is being offered. #linkinbio
Consignment is an amazing way to get started without any risk. I did it for a few years when my kids were babies and didn't have much money to buy stuff to sell. I stopped after a few years but did well with it and do recommend it to anyone getting started or low on funds to buy their own inventory

I’ve had people ask me to sell things for them knowing I primarily sell women’s clothing items and it would be sports memorabilia or Christmas decor. I have to be interested in what I’m selling and so I declined to sell those things. Another time it was women’s clothing but from a smoker so I also declined. I have sold clothing for my sister and Mom and I had 3 consignment clients and have bought from clients for cash rather than consignment. I don’t have any clients at the moment but I’d consider it.

Absolutely agree. So many opportunities fly us by because we're too afraid to get out of our comfort zone.

I have a bin of vintage toys from a friend who's family was going to just donate them. He knew I was a seller and we are splitting 50/50. Win win for sure. Doing it on my time line as he is in no rush. 😀

I accepted a few friends asking me to sell fir the learning aspect. I learned new brands and the research ultimately makes me a better reseller or brands to look out for or avoid.
