Do you ever worry about going against a tradition? Holidays can become whatever you wish for them to be. While I was living a nomadic lifestyle, I was not generally at home for holidays. Some years this didn't bother me, but other times it did. It can feel lonely talking to family that is all together back home while being at work in another country or on a cruise ship in my case. However, my first Christmas away from home working on a cruise ship was very exciting and fun, and I didn't have FOMO for traditions. If you have an opportunity that you are really excited about, don't let traditions get in the way of trying something new. You may love it, or maybe you will find out it's not for you. Either way, you will learn something new and you can always continue your regular traditions the following year. This photo is from the Galapagos Islands. I visited over Thanksgiving in 2019. I was not upset to miss out on turkey that year... I mean, look at the view! . . . . . . #tlpicks #passportbyforbes #mydomainetravels #Tastemademedoit #VeryTandC #iamatraveler #forbestravelguide #voyaged #postcardplaces #fodorsonthego #beautifulmatters #letyourmindtravel #condenasttraveller #departuresmag #stillatraveler #BBCtravel #vacations #bucketlist #travelsouthamerica #VisitEcuador #BeWellinEcuador #ecuadortravel _ig #travelingecuador #besttripEcuador #galapagos #galapagosislands #galapagoscruise
